As you watch Supreme Court & reflect on consequential work @Kenyajudiciary has done in the last 12 years in helping protect & preserve Katiba..
Remember, Bunge has kept Judiciary budget stagnated at 17/18B since 2013 when its own budget has quadrupled.
Remind your new MP this.
Congratulations to H.E @BarasaFernandes & @A_S_Nassir for being elected as the Governors of Kakamega and Mombasa respectively. We wish you the very best as you serve the people. We reiterate our commitment to working together to strengthen the healthcare systems.
Today, @kmpdu met with Health PS @Susan_Mochache where we had a successful negotiation in which commitments were made:
1. @MOH_Kenya will process the payment of fees for sponsored Postgraduates medical students.
...
We need to voice concerns about medical interns not being posted because the delay in posting affects their licensing to a later date...We need to agitate and speak out on these injustices and stand together in solidarity!
Unlike many county gov'ts, unions understand the importance of obeying court orders & upholding the rule of law. We still however continue to decry the incessant infigmement of labour & human rights by hostile employers. Kenya's dispute resolution system is clearly under strain!
5 days into the strike a court order was issued to the unions, restraining them and their members from participating in the industrial action. This was after the county government submitted a notice of motion at the industrial court. The unions obliged.
Today, I had the pleasure of attending the first day of the 1st Conference on Harmonization of the Curriculum and Training of Health Professionals.
The Conference theme this year is “Repositioning Todays Health Workforce for the Future ”.

On 4th Jan 2022 @Kmpdu issued a strike notice in Mombasa. Negotiations followed, achieving the bare minimum of 2 month salary and a special NHIF cover. The strike was called off on the 10th with other demands pending mention in petition E014 of 2021 against the County Gov't.
Doctors employed by the County Government of Mombasa will be going on strike from the 23rd of November 2021. It is a cry for justice!

How employers infringe upon workers rights:
1. Unfair termination of contracts
2. Poor working conditions
3. Lack of benefits
4. Non payment of dues for work done
We encourage workers to join Unions for their welfare and for the protection of their rights.
