Apparently, the talk started with a Chladni plate experiment using a mix of red and yellow sand.
Sound on, let's see if you resist the whole movie! Definitely not jazz...
Exhilarating induction talk by Professor Giovanni Coco at the University of Auckland tonight. Rythmicity, self organization, patterns, and how they shape nature and our lifes ... And Jazz, of course ! What a thrill to be part of this amazing group. @cocoltrane@coastalcol

@Emily_M_Lane That was high tide. We've been "lucky". Add 30cms to the water level and it would have been an epic disaster. Even the ferry terminal would have been flooded.
Will people now better understand the implications of slr?
Pretty bad erosion going on. And the worst has still to come.
@Emily_M_Lane predicts a storm surge of about 0.5m. High tide is late this afternoon, will it flood?
well done @_kvos !! The final feather in an amazing #PhD around #coastSat and large-scale analysis of coastal sandy shorelines and climate variability.
New piece we wrote musing about the impacts and implications of the Auckland #floods and other recent extreme weather events. Emphasising the critical need to consider #ClimateJustice in recovering, planning and practical actions #cca#ClimateAction#Nz https://t.co/6Zs7VbUPLg
