A critical missing autistic child, alone and partially in the water, with time running out.

It was our Aviation Unit—“Guardian”— crew that spotted the child in the darkness and guided PGPD officers on the ground in for a safe recovery. That moment didn’t just save a life. It made history.

At the Airborne Public Safety Convention in Phoenix, our aircrew—Mr. Bo Corser and CPL Chris Elrod—were honored with the Life Saver Award, making Prince George’s County Police the first agency in the world to earn FLIR Vision Awards in every major category.

This isn’t about accolades—it’s about lives saved, families reunited, and a team that’s First to Serve.

💙 On behalf of our aircrew, Teledyne FLIR donated $1,000 to the National Autism Association—a gesture as meaningful as the award itself.

This morning, a loaded gun was discharged by a student, age 9, inside a classroom at Billingsley Elementary. The gun was in their book bag. No one was injured and the gun was recovered by a school resource officer who was near the classroom.
