Bittensor has over 500,000 on-chain accounts. A year ago it was half, at around 250,000. The network is processing millions of token transactions across 128+ active subnets.
$TAO stopped being a experiment and more an integral part of the AI future a long time ago.
Subnet APY intro: Welcome to the $TAO Bittensor ecosystem
I’ve been seeing a lot of new holders jumping into subnets lately. That’s great.
But this ecosystem is not as simple as buying a memecoin on pump fun. There’s no complexity in uselessness. Anyway, that’s not the point here.
Let’s get to what matters: APY is where you find the risk vs reward balance inside subnets.
In general:
Newer projects
Fewer holders
Less TAO staked
usually mean higher APY. But APY changes constantly.
It changes every hour. And most importantly, it changes per validator.
Finding the best APY by subnet, validator, hour, day, week, or month is actually simple. I left the path in the first comment.
On the @theallinpod this week, @chamath asked @nvidia CEO Jensen Huang about decentralized AI training, calling our Covenant-72B run "a pretty crazy technical accomplishment."
One correction: it's 72 billion parameters, not four. Trained permissionlessly across 70+ contributors on commodity internet. The largest model ever pre-trained on fully decentralized infrastructure.
Jensen's answer is worth hearing too.
🚨LEVEL SHIFT: IGNORING $TAO BITTENSOR IS LIKE IGNORING $BTC. JUST DON’T DO THAT.
If you work in finance or investing and don’t know that $TAO Bittensor exists, that’s already a serious blind spot.
If you’re in crypto, know that $TAO exists but still don’t understand what it is, what it does, or how it works… you’re missing one of the most important ecosystems being built right now.
If you hold $TAO and don’t know there are 128 subnet startups forming the backbone of this network, fix that today.
If your $TAO is sitting idle on a CEX, change that. Stake in Root. Set up your native wallet today.
If you already invest in $dTAO, drop a subnet in the comments.
Someone else might be discovering this ecosystem right now.
If you do not understand how big this is for Bittensor $TAO then I don't have the time to explain it to you.
But here I go anyway...
Achieving 72B parameters under these conditions means the following doubts on decentralized training is cleared:
Distributed optimization instability
Gradient synchronization issues
Network bottlenecks
Incentive alignment across participants
This is a fundamental breakthrough in training architecture, not just scale.
The explosion in demand for SN3 Templar has led to a coinciding rise in demand for Bittensor $TAO
Of course, as buying TAO is the only way to get exposure to Templar
The important thing to understand is that while this might be the first subnet to attract mainstream attention, it sure as hell won’t be the last
Just imagine what will happen to the price of TAO when 5-10 different subnets make significant breakthroughs like Templar just did
It’s a matter of when, not if 🌊
All roads lead to $TAO
$TAO is entering the mainstream conversation

FYI: Grayscale Bittensor Trust $GTAO is open for private placement for eligible accredited investors.
