My attempt to protect users from scam apps on the @AppStore has gotten my Apple Developer account flagged for termination - ironically, for "dishonest activity".

Unless it's reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow Wallet will fail, and development on macOS will end.

The context: since 2023, more than a dozen fake "Sparrow" apps have appeared on the App Store, as recently as April this year. Users have contacted me after losing their savings, in some cases their life savings, to these impersonators.

I'm the developer of the real Sparrow Wallet, a desktop app, and I hold the registered US trademarks for the name and logo. I have publicly warned @Apple and the community about these fake apps from early 2024, but they keep appearing.

The app @Apple flagged was a placeholder that was never published. Its only purpose was to warn users that Sparrow is desktop-only and that other "Sparrow" apps aren't mine. This approach may have been misguided, but there was nothing dishonest about it.

I'm confident this is an automated misclassification that Apple would reverse on review - but I may be terminated before a human ever looks at my appeal. The cost would fall on @Apple's own users: blocked installs and no updates for a tool people rely on, which opens the door for more fakes.

@realDonaldTrump you are a man of your word. The World knows that.

As you know the SDNY is a rogue district executing witch hunts.

You successfully escaped their witch hunt against you. However, the Samourai developer team of Keonne and Bill were not successful.

They were wrongfully imprisoned by judicial manipulation and dishonesty for writing software code which we all know the US Supreme Court has rule represents free speech.

FINcen advised the SDNY the software code and actions were not a crime.

Frankly, Mr. President your ambition to make the USA the Bitcoin capital of the World will fail because the SDNY has circumvented and discredited your desires by demonstrating to the World the USA cannot be the Bitcoin capital of the World because the SDNY will simply imprison the very people who can and will make the USA the Bitcoin capital of the World.

The SDNY is preventing your ambitions from coming to fruition.

They have discredited you in the World’s eyes by falsely imprisoning the very people who are the people that can and will make the USA the Bitcoin capital of the World.

Because of the SDNY, the World has a dimensioned respect for your authority to make the USA the Bitcoin capital.

Mr. President with all due respect, until you negate the SDNY’s successful efforts to make a mockery out the rule of law in America, you will be seen weaker and subservient to the SDNY because they are falsing imprisoning the very Bitcoin developers you need to fulfill your ambitions.

In summary the SDNY, via the imprisonment of the Samourai developers, have discredited you and your administration in the eyes of the World.

The SDNY has damaged your creditable and the value that the USA could offer as the Bitcoin capital of the World.

However, here is the good news. By pardoning the Samourai developers from the fraudulent conviction extracted under duress, you prove to the World:

1. You are more honest and powerful than the SDNY;

2. American can and will be the Bitcoin capital of the World.

Mr. President your credibility is at risk here.

Now is the time to demonstrate your leadership and your respect for the rule of law in American.

The average president will not rise to this occasion because it takes courage. However, you are not an average president.

You are a president of honor and respect for the full of law.

Mr. President by pardoning the Samourai developers you send a clear message to the World.

That message says: “Donald J Trump will not let the SDNY conduct witch hunts against innocent people to the detriment of the best interest of America”.

Mr. President, this is your time to set precedent that the SDNY does not rule this country on any policy, especially whether America can be the Bitcoin Capital of the World or not.

Thank you Mr. President. The United States of America is monitoring your attention and action on this position.

We want to see you on the right side of history by defeating the SDNY’s efforts to discredit your desire to Make America Great Again.

🚨🚨🚨There is a major flaw in the BRCA of the proposed Clarity Act:

(d) CLARIFICATION OF TREATMENT explicitly states that the protections in subsection (c) DO NOT EXTEND to (or "modify the application of") 18 U.S.C. § 1960(b)(1)(C) for a specific subset of conduct by an "initial person."

18 U.S.C. § 1960 prohibits operating an unlicensed money transmitting business. Subsection (b)(1)(C) covers cases involving the transportation or transmission of funds that the defendant knows are:

(1) Derived from a criminal offense (e.g., proceeds of fraud, drug trafficking, etc.); or

(2) Intended to be used to promote or support unlawful activity (e.g., funding terrorism, further crimes).

This is the exact 1960 subsection now being used to target developers. Every builder and developer knows their tool could be used for nefarious purposes. Under this law, that knowledge alone is enough to send you to prison for years. There is NO PROTECTION for developers in the Clarity Act while this carve out remains.
