10 years to build a single bridge.
And some of you still think society is functioning?
Let me explain to you what's really happening.
Since the GFC in 2008, the world has by and large stopped building things.
A sort of malaise has taken over...
People have become rich from doing nothing, thanks to astronomical rises in stocks and real estate, and the next generation has no incentive to build anything because they are piss poor...
Wages have gone nowhere at the same time that cost of living has gone through the roof.
So people instead try to emulate what those recently rich people did: just gamble it all on stocks and real estate.
No one wants to produce anything the economy needs anymore, because they can't earn enough from doing so.
That's why it now takes 10 years to build a bridge.
The financialisation of everything, via the fiat monetary system, has warped the incentives that govern our economy so badly that it no longer makes sense to work hard.
I’ve said it before:
US farmland is the most undervalued asset in the world
Land is incredibly scarce all over the world - people will fight to the death over it and protect it at any cost
Yet here in the US, you can buy hundreds/thousands of acres of land in the most developed/powerful country on earth for under $1 SF
Regardless of what happens to the economy, I'm going to be looking to buy well located rural/farm land in the path of growth
There is no substitute to owning large amounts of land
“Just shut up!”
Oh @PatMcAfeeShow, have you ever met a Coug in person? If you had, and listened, you’d understand that our passion for our school far outstrips your contract with @espn.
We won’t be silenced while your employer mocks, belittles, and attempts to tear down our great institution and our proud athletic history. That’s not what being a Coug is about.
So you’ll excuse our fantastic @CoachDickert for sticking up for our school and ALL of the incredible @WSUCougars Student-Athletes. He said his peace and made his peace with Coach Corso.
In conclusion, listening to you double down on @espn‘s self-serving narrative will not silence us. Cougs everywhere will continue to speak up and fight (including in the courts).
So, with all due respect, STFU and think for yourself. If @espn attempted to relegate your beloved alma mater, wouldn’t you fight?

Check out this almost unbelievable time-lapse of wildfire smoke consuming the World Trade Center and the New York City skyline.
Those vulnerable to poor air quality, including seniors and young children, should limit time outdoors if possible.
