Refugee Resilience Collective (Tavistock) - Narrative psychologists and psychotherapists working with refugee minors, families and volunteers in the Calais camp
Safely home after a day volunteering in Calais with @CollectiveRC . Thank you for feeding us delicious food @RefugeeCKitchen 2000 meals a day - you are such stars! 🌟🌟🌟
According to reports, 23 people from #Sudan spent several days stranded at sea before being rescued yesterday near the Bouri offshore oilfield, ~120km from #Libya.
They were taken to #Tripoli, despite intl law requiring disembarkation in safe ports.

@TwMCuk @BethanAngharadL As a volunteer for @CollectiveRC, I see similar attitudes from the Calais authorities towards migrants. They put as much energy into confiscating people's possessions and generally harassing them as it would take to support them.
Little coverage of one reason why refugees are desperate to leave Calais - the brutality of Calais police. Volunteering for @CollectiveRC I've heard first hand stories of tear gas and slashed tents. More detail in this excellent report by @RefugeeInfoBus. https://t.co/Ko3hpwyMSp
'I don't think we have a migrant crisis here. I think we have a moral crisis.'
Bridget Chapman has slammed the 'appalling' way the government has handled the influx of migrants and refugees crossing the English channel.
On an average day in the UK:
3,700 are forced to visit a food bank.
5,400 suffer domestic violence.
4,750 sleep rough on the streets.
4 migrants arrive in boats across the Channel.
Guess which one the government is calling a “crisis”?
Hundreds of displaced people are living in Northern France homeless, cold and trying desperately to find a home in Europe. But where are they travelling from? @Right_to_Remain @Refugee_RE @RefugeesMedia@HelpRefugees
We took the British government to court. Today we got the verdict. With your support:
- Over 250 vulnerable children are living safely in the UK
- We increased the number of places available from 350 to 480
- We’ve shown the government's treatment of child refugees broke law
