@citizentvkenya@USAmbKenya, could you please address the growing concern of delays in IR1/IR2 visa processing at the U.S. Embassy Nairobi? Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens have been waiting for over 2 years with no interviews since Feb 2024. @citizentvkenya@YvonneOkwara#CitizenExplainer
@citizentvkenya Kindly ask her about spousal visa delays. Only Nairobi is facing a 2 yr visa interview delay and still blaming COVID. Other larger and busier embassies don’t have have similar level of delays.

@USAmbKenya Children and spouses are struggling with separation due to increased timeframe of visa issuance, as we speak 25+ long wait for interview letters. @POTUS@VP@SecBlinken@SenSchumer this whole process has been nothing but emotionally draining. @SenGillibrand#ir1visa
@USAmbKenya@POTUS@VP@SecBlinken
The backlog of family reunification cases at @USEmbassyKenya is growing,with delays exceeding 2 years. The focus on visas like E3, K1, and DV,which require payment at the embassy, is unfair to families waiting for reunification.#ir1#ir2
@USAmbKenya@POTUS@VP@SecBlinken
It's distressing to see @USEmbassyKenya only prioritize E3, K1, and DV visas while #FamilyReunification cases are neglected. The last IR1/IR2 interview letter was in Feb 2024, and the backlog keeps growing. Please end this nightmare!
@USAmbKenya
The capacity to process visas is there, as shown by handling close to 1,000 DV and E3 visas. It's clear that family reunification could be expedited if prioritized. Please take action. @USEmbassyKenya@SecBlinken@POTUS@VP#ir1#ir2
@POTUS ,@USAmbKenya ,@USEmbassyKenya enough of these lies, we have begged , pleaded and nothing Is being done ,no communication at all from the responsible people it's really absurd that we have to beg to see our families ,our kids suffer the most ,priotize family please
@USAmbKenya This is still the situation for ir1/cr1 visa, 25 months and counting for interview letters is diabolical to say the least. I’ve seen more than enough broken families and children separated from their parents. Sad! @USAmbKenya@SecBlinken@USEmbassyKenya@POTUS
@SqueakyWheel254@USAmbKenya@USEmbassyKenya@USAmbKenya and @USEmbassyKenya the significant delay in processing of immediate relative family visas has caused tremendous pain and despair for families seeking to reunite with their spouses and children. 2yrs wait is such a long time to wait for visa interview. We need action
@USAmbKenya
Amb. Whitman, Nairobi is now processing 44% more IVs annually than pre-Covid. But, family visas are fewer than pre-Covid! Children and spouses now face a 2-year wait that keeps getting longer. This is not fair.
@USEmbassyKenya, please return your focus to families!
@USEmbassyKenya@USEmbassyKenya@USAmbKenya@SecBlinken@POTUS@VP
The visa backlog in Nairobi especially for family reunification cases IR1,IR2, has caused heartbreaking delays,taking 2 years.We kindly urge you to prioritize these cases to alleviate the pain of prolonged separation.#ir1#ir2.
@USAmbKenya@USEmbassyKenya@SenSchumer@SenGillibrand@POTUS currently there is 2yr just for a IL for IR2 in Nairobi. That’s INSANE, we have to wait 2 plus years before our child has a chance to be with us. Please prioritize this before it’s too late.
@USEmbassyKenya@StateIVLP@USAmbKenya Meg you know what else would be exciting news if families wouldn’t have to wait two years for a IL for an interview for family based visa. Please prioritize these visas #IR2visa
@USAmbKenya@USEmbassyKenya@SenSchumer@SenGillibrand we lost another weekend with our loved ones. Please prioritize visa interviews for family based visas. Two years is to long and something needs to be done.
@USEmbassyKenya@WashFellowship@USAmbKenya@USEmbassyKenya@SecBlinken Please prioritize family reunification visas at the Nairobi Embassy. The backlog is causing families to be separated for 2 years. Consider sharing the load with East African embassies or allowing transfers without residency requirements.
