Today I was honored to present with Stavroula Kousteni the Meet-the-Professor session on Stem Cells ASBMR Task Force Report @ASBMR#ASBMR2024
Thanks to all the participants for a stimulating discussion
This coordinated process is disrupted in musculoskeletal trauma leading to fibrosis and impaired healing. Modulating macrophage function decreased fibrosis and enhanced bone repair, revealing macrophages as a potential therapeutic target to treat trauma-associated fibrosis.
We report an immune cell atlas of bone regeneration. Using single-nucleus transcriptomics, we uncovered parallel inflammatory responses of macrophages and skeletal stem progenitor cells in the early stages of bone healing.

Our latest publication is out in @ScienceTM. This study from @SimonPerrin15 and co-authors investigated a severe form of bone repair defect and found a very unexpected mechanism involving Schwann cells!
This work opens new therapeutic perspectives for patients with CPT. It also provides exciting new concepts on the role of the periosteum and Schwann cells in bone healing and fibrous nonunion.
A postdoctoral position in musculoskeletal regeneration and stem cells is open in @ColnotLab#imrb#inserm#upec
We look forward to receiving applications for this project integrating functional in vivo analyses, microscopy and single cell transcriptomics
Very excited to start 2024 by sharing our new study from @colnotlab just out in @Elife
In this study, we created a cell atlas of the periosteum and the fracture environment from 🐁 to unravel the differentiation trajectories of skeletal stem/progenitor cells during bone repair👇
