NEW: Republicans to introduce bipartisan legislation to ban congress members like Nancy Pelosi and their families from trading individual stocks.
Do you support this?
So when US airlines were stranded, they got taxpayer money to help them out but now when taxpayers are stranded, airlines don’t help but instead charge insane amounts to people who need to get home? Help me understand🤔
Billionaires and their Super PACs must not be able to buy Democratic Party primaries. If Democrats really believe in democracy and campaign finance reform, we must ban SuperPacs in primaries. I stand with progressive reformers advocating for this change.
Under Trump, the Republicans gave the Koch family a $1.4 billion tax break. Now they want you to believe that they are on the side of the working class because they oppose canceling $20,000 in student debt for a worker making $60,000 a year? Give me a break.
If you voted for $2 trillion in unpaid-for tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations, no one wants to hear your opinion on targeted relief for working and middle class Americans
~90 percent of Biden’s student loan forgiveness is going to those making under $75K.
By contrast, only 15 percent of Republicans’ tax handouts went to those making under $75K.
The student loans conversation really shows how evil-minded people can be. If something goes to make other people’s lives easier, they react as if it’s a personal insult to them and really argue that people should be made to suffer unnecessarily.
Marjorie Taylor Greene says "it’s completely unfair" for the federal government to forgive loans.
This is Marjorie Taylor Greene's company.
@RepMTG had $183,504 in PPP loans forgiven.
Loan forgiveness for me, not for thee.
This isn't true. It's made up to scare you.
The Inflation Reduction Act includes money for the IRS to curb an epidemic of tax cheating amongst the millionaires and billionaires. Under bill, audit rates won't increase for anyone making under $400K.
Of course Republicans don't like the Inflation Reduction Act.
It eliminates tax loopholes for billionaires and corporations.
It cuts profits for drug companies and oil companies in order to to lower drug costs and energy costs.
Republicans don't support those things.
The only tax increases in the Inflation Reduction Act are a requirement that the biggest corporations pay SOME corporate tax and the closure of an egregious loophole for some billionaire/millionaire investors.
This $$ is used to cut drug and energy costs for regular Americans.
The two sacred cows that Republicans will protect at all costs - the drug industry and the oil industry - lose out if the Inflation Reduction Act passes.
That’s why the GOP is furious.
