Concerns about safety, air quality and fire risk at the Ripleys scrapheap for years. Maybe now it's on fire the @EnvAgency will listen? Local residents told by fire service to keep windows closed meanwhile.... we need more than this!

I can confirm that the application to build housing at Harbour Heights/ Quarry Road has been declared invalid by Lewes District Council, whilst we wait for the Developer to provide the additional reports and information we would need to consider this scheme.
Come along to another public exhibition on Wednesday 25th September at Meeching Hall, Fort Road between 8-11am and 4-7pm, for a further opportunity to look at proposals for the redevelopment of Newhaven Marina.

Laughable that @transportgovuk should boast about paltry £22m on the whole national cycle network. £23 million is being wasted on @EastSussexCC Newhaven Port Access Road alone - just 650m long and requires bulldozing a local wildlife site
🚴♀️ and 🚶♂️ should be the natural choice for shorter journeys, or as part of a longer journey.
We’ve:
✅ Delivered 410 🚴♀️ and 🚶♂️ schemes across England
✅ 1 million Bikeability training sessions
✅ Invested £22m in the National Cycle Network

@transportgovuk £22 million is peanuts. Thanks to funding through @transportgovuk £23 million is being wasted on @EastSussexCC Newhaven Port Access Road - a short stretch of road just big enough to bulldoze a local wildlife site- & purely to benefit private companies
Eastbourne has a network of DIY air quality sensors that residents have made themselves at organised workshops, to keep an eye on ttaffix pollution. Anyone interested in building (ot hosting) one in #Newhaven?
We now have an air quality sensor up in Hampden Park, next to the busiest railway crossing in Europe. Lots of idling traffic so it will be interesting to see the data.
