I looked into the data and she’s absolutely correct, this is a nationwide issue. Big insurance companies are forcing private practices out of business by doing this

- AMA’s latest benchmark survey put 42.2% of US physicians in physician-owned practices in 2024, down from 60.1% in 2012
- Among doctors whose practices were sold in the last decade, 70.8% listed “better negotiate higher payment rates with payers” as an important or very important reason

Big Insurance companies are attempting to consolidate and essentially own our entire health industry

Denial rates are also sky high

- 41% of providers say their denial rate is 10% or higher
- Affordable Care Act marketplace plans denied about 19% of in-network claims in 2024
- 46% of physicians said at least 1 in 5 initial private-payer claims get denied

A DATA CENTER WITH A LIVING BRAIN INSIDE?

This sounds like science fiction—but it’s real.
Researchers in Singapore have switched on a computing system powered partly by about 16 million living human brain cells grown from stem cells.

The cells were connected to special computing units developed by Cortical Labs. Instead of using only silicon, the system uses living brain tissue to send and receive electrical signals.

Why do this? Because brain cells can process information using remarkably little energy. If this technology can be scaled, it could one day help reduce the enormous electricity demands of modern data centers.
