Haley's vote share among GOP primary voters who say Biden legitimately won in 2020:
Iowa 53%, NH 76%, SC 81%
% of GOP primary voters who say Biden legitimately won:
Iowa 29%, NH 46%, SC 35%
She does well among sensible people. But there aren't enough of them in GOP primaries.
@shellenberger This shouldn't be that surprising: this is the same CIA whose unchecked behavior was revealed in spades by Church Committee in the 1970's and whose dissembling about JFK assassination continue to stymie efforts to solve it. Who will guard the guardians is a perennial question.
@YFeyman The health policy world is stuffed with examples of what amounts to lying with statistics by people preferring to make a problem or policy impact considerably larger than it actually is.
@BaldMove@HBO@TrueDetective I'd be astonished if author of True Detective, season 4, wasn't partly inspired by a mysterious true crime case involving scientists found frozen in snow: was culprit a freakish act of nature or a science experiment gone bad that Soviets tried to cover up? https://t.co/QFYJ1ooGaY
Great news for economics as a discipline: Papers carefully reexamine data, methods, and results; end up questioning the widening inequality narrative; are published in the top journals; by people who keep jobs. Replication, not prizes wins. Try this, other social sciences.
Congratulations to @DavidCGrabowski for his election into @theNAMedicine!
A true leader in health economics who has elucidated novel trends in long-term and post-acute care quality, and identifying contradictory payment policies for Medicare and Medicaid.
@ben_ippolito@borisvabson Great stuff helping to prove the efficiency advantages of MA plans and undercutting claims that cost differences can merely be chalked up to selection effects. We should be encouraging policy reforms that allow FFS and MA to compete on a truly equal playing field.
@GOTGOONED @nytimes "We were at war" does not justify mistreatment of Americans (which is why U.S. later paid reparations to the huge numbers of Japanese-Americans sent to internment camps). But in the minds of policymakers, we were in an existential race against Germany. Some eggs got broken etc.
@GOTGOONED @nytimes c) this history is hardly "hidden" given that I found this detailed account on National Park Service website! https://t.co/IpWSgDwOmx; d) the same site gives detailed story about Trinity test and radiation risks to many NM cities
