@TheStoryEater@StoneJamison Agree so much. I did things like this self-indulgent apology BEFORE recognising my CPTSD. Upon recognising my condition I vowed never to behave like that again. It burdens, disturbs and hurts people.
The press release for the 1980 edition of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ contained a section with the following praise from the members of Monty Python. The total number of words is 42.
And 1 year later I am officially a 16-times cited author (only 2 of which were self-cites 😛). It's been a productive year on that font! 😁🤓 #AcademicChatter#PhDChat#PhDLife
@KKatugam I use a HP Omen 17 for all of these jobs. It handles coding and image processing no problem. It runs hot and crashes a fair bit when trying to run AAA games though, but it is hard to find a laptop that doesn't! Memory is split though (240GB SSD and 1TB HDD), if that is an issue.
@SlinkyScience@PhDVoice@AcademicChatter Not that you are short in suggestions, but I used GitHub to host a “Digital Appendix” and uploaded a load of material there, including videos. Then I just provided URL’s and hyperlinks in the thesis.
@biologistimo I was mixed up until I started using the phrase 'latitudinal temperature/climate gradients' in my writing. So now I link with latitude with North-South patterns mentally. Next I need to convince my dyslexic brain to stop writing "longDitude" :P
@KorimakoEcology@adzebill @AlexVerry @Dr_Stoat @takapodigs My 2 cents: The major limit to establishing more mainland populations is presence of predators, rather than habitat quality. Given how widespread tarks used to be and how well they do on predator free sites we're pretty sure they are generalists, not alpine grassland specialists.
