In a new study by @ContetLab, researchers have discovered that an experimental, clinical-stage antidepressant drug can also reverse excessive alcohol intake in animal models of alcohol use disorder https://t.co/P83XAM1XvN @npp_journal
We are looking for a new postdoc. Join our team to study the neurobiology of alcohol addiction and grow your skills in a dynamic and supportive environment! https://t.co/NU7p2hu6Um

@superkash Parasubthalamic nucleus! Twice more pubs today than 8 years ago but number is still low. Been fun to see interest grow and new functions uncovered!
Thrilled to share @ScienceMagazine piece, a 10 yr obsession: developing brains get signals from the environment that shape emotional circuit maturation & impact mental health. What signals? which ones are 'bad'? how do they influence circuit refinement? https://t.co/bHy407Ffyp
Happy to share our final published @eLife article characterizing the role of the parasubthalamic nucleus (PSTN) in food intake! Work from 10 @WilliamsCollege students including @GraceKromm and @OliviaBarnhill1. And @michael_krashes too!

Wednesday is almost over at #WCBR2022 but don’t forget to plan for tomorrow 🤩
I’ll be speaking (again) at 8:30am tomorrow at this fantastic panel! Hope to see you there!
Re-upping this, please Retweet my #AcademicTwitter friends!
We got the grant, there's a bunch of work to be done, happy to hire ASAP if the timing is right - or, towards the end of the year, all good!
We are so excited to announce that our #AddictionBiology paper "Sex-specific plasticity in CRF regulation of inhibitory control in central amygdala CRF1 neurons after chronic voluntary alcohol drinking" is now online! #IA2BC#SABV#CRF#CeA

@jones_g_parker @superkash @AntoineBesnard_ I found some relevant info in this paper

30% of CeA Crh neurons co-express Camk2a, they have spines and project to the SNc/VTA
To all amygdala aficionados out there: what do we know about central amygdala Camk2a+ cells? Camk2a is considered a marker of excitatory cells yet CeA neurons are all inhibitory... Any clue would be great!
