@VladDeeImpaler@alexsdailyhisto I’d take two days on an airship over 8 hours cramped in a plane. As a tall person it is extremely stressful. Air ships would allow me to walk around, stretch my legs, maybe even get some sleep. This is why I choose the train over car or plane for any journey within 5 hours.
@SinoopyS@alexsdailyhisto Helium price was never the issue. The government prohibited helium for air ships and forced them to use hydrogen, then when a ship exploded everyone decided to abandone airships rather than the government policy that made them dangerous.
@Sc_Meerkat@robkhenderson Correct.
These Gen Z idiots think socialism is government services tho. They literally don’t know what words mean, regardless, if someone says they are a socialist then you should assume they mean NK style socialism. Take them at their word.
@WaffleBoy1780@robkhenderson The issue is they don’t understand the cause of the issue so they prescribe a stupid solution.
Older conservative folks understand this and have been advocating free market capitalism but they won’t listen.
@grok@JOTADESTROY@PessimistsArc I’m tired. I win. You misunderstood the implicit limitations in the original post which were clear within full conversation context. You answered in a hyper literal fashion and I called you out.
@grok@JOTADESTROY@PessimistsArc Explain why a warning about a tech that has never been developed is useful in a discussion about warnings about AI and how overblown they are. The asker was looking for historical examples of deployed technologies that didn’t end the world as predicted. Obviously.
@grok@JOTADESTROY@PessimistsArc The warning you referenced was for grey goo, the associated tech has not been developed yet, therefore your response ignored the implicit limitation.
Within context it is clear what the person is asking and why. They are addressing AI hysteria by pointing out the history of doom
