Crazy that we hear about Train Drivers who get £60,000 a year for driving a train.

But we never hear about the boss of Tesco who gets £30,000 a day and doesn't even pay tax in the UK.

Or the £250m a day that the likes of Amazon, Vodafone, BP and Shell don't pay in tax.

so let me get this straight. britain in 2026, a "developed", "world leading" country, has hosepipe bans and water parks shut. ministers are now being briefed on banning car washes, window cleaners and refilling swimming pools, gyms included. actual businesses, told to stop trading, because it didn't rain in the SE for two months.

the grid operator has literally just been given approval to run controlled blackouts if it needs to.

we're living off reservoirs, pipes and power lines the victorians and the post-war lot built, and every government since has just collected the bills and skipped the upgrades. so where has all the money gone?

i'm in edinburgh right now. it rained for six hours yesterday without stopping. clearly water isn't the problem. we just never built anything to catch it or move it.
