A New Black South isn’t for everybody, but it will benefit everybody.

If our ancestors, fresh off the plantation, could win control of half a state legislature and multiple statewide offices, why can’t we?

Conservatives fight so hard to keep control of state government because they know what’s at stake. State governments direct billions of dollars in contracts and investments that create opportunity and shape the future of communities.

We have the ability to build political power, strengthen our economic future, and help shape the future of the South.

We can also create a more just region. We may never prevent every injustice, but we can build institutions that hold people accountable when our communities are harmed.

I believe in us, unapologetically. Now it’s time for more of us to believe in ourselves.

What we doing now ain’t working, it’s time for a new strategy. Betting on us.

We talked for just shy of 20 minutes … about IRAN, UKRAINE, the unfolding situation in MAINE, my visit to the TR Presidential Library, and even a little bit of Senate history. I’m Black first.

This nation was founded treating Black people as property, and even today there are ongoing efforts to restrict Black political and economic power.

Conservatives will try to gaslight you, but I prefer facts. Under @mayorbmscott and @govwesmoore, Baltimore has seen its lowest homicide levels in decades.

Even Stephen A. Smith had to ask Officer Tatum what’s wrong with identifying as Black first when you understand America’s history and its relationship with Black people.

I know exactly who I am, and I’m not afraid to say it.

Let the record show that Louisiana had some Black men who spoke truth to power.

Let the record show that Republicans in the Louisiana Senate are not leaders. They are a reflection of some of the worst parts of America, and history will remember them in 4K.

Next week, this committee will vote on Louisiana’s congressional maps. Anything less than two Black seats is theft. They have already begun taking seats of power from us, so we need to begin the work of taking seats from them.

If you agree with me, use your voice. Start showing up. Tell your friends what’s happening. Make it a priority.

Did you know that @dixonmcmakin, who is pushing bills to eliminate the seat of @calvin4clerk, is the announcer for @lsu sports?

Dixon is from Baton Rouge, but he’s working to take away the clerk’s office in New Orleans and, in turn, nullify the votes of thousands of Black people.

During debate, Dixon invoked language that echoed George Wallace, the segregationist former governor of Alabama. That history matters, especially while legislation is being used to overturn the will of voters in New Orleans.

I’m curious how the Black Student Union and former Black athletes feel about Dixon being the voice of the Tigers. President Rousse, you have thousands of Black alumni in New Orleans being impacted by your sports announcer’s actions in his day job.

I’m just wondering if y’all have connected the dots on Rep. McMakin yet.

What if I told you Black voters in Arkansas already have enough registered voters to erase the entire margin of defeat?

Not hypothetically. Not someday. Right now.

90,000 estimated Black registered voters in just two counties. A 54,000 vote gap to close.

The math isn’t the problem. The turnout is.

Arkansas hasn’t had a Democratic member of Congress in years — but Chris Jones is on the ballot in 2026 and he’s already proven he can win across racial lines. Arkansas has never sent a Black person to Congress. That can change if Black voters run up the score.
