"Engineer or Astronomer?" - They asked.
"How about both!" - I said
Elated to announce that following my bachelor's in electronics and communication engineering, I will now be beginning my Ph.D. in Astronomy at Texas A&M University @TAMU this Fall!!!
Chandrayaan-3 Mission:
'India🇮🇳,
I reached my destination
and you too!'

Chandrayaan-3 has successfully
soft-landed on the moon 🌖!.
Congratulations, India🇮🇳!

Psuedocolor rendition composed from multiple exposures of SN 2023ixf taken from 1.3m DFOT in BVR filters from Devasthal. It is a very nearby (6.4 million parsec or about 21 million light-years) #supernova detected in M101, the #PinwheelGalaxy.

Breaking my Twitter moratorium to make sure astronomers are aware there is a new supernova in M101 at 7 Mpc. It is a core collapse supernova caught very young, at 14.9 mag. Supernovae this close only come around once a decade, so get on it! https://t.co/s3a6CuxLMd
The #supernova in M101 has all hands on deck, on the ground and in space. Here is an image courtesy of Peter Brown from the UVOT instrument @NASASwift. SN 2023ixf is slightly left of center. It’s so bright it’s nearly or is saturating the detector. Exciting times!
Had an amazing time at TAMU Physics and Engineering Festival doing solar observation and explaining these amazingly curious kids about solar flares and sunspots!

News from #AAS241!
Hubble recorded a star's final moments as it was ripped apart and eaten up by a black hole – getting twisted into a donut-like shape in the process.

Oh yeah??? well @yastronomy is giving an iPoster presentation during the Monday 9-10 AM Supernovae session, on "SED Modeling Type Ia Supernovae in the Ultraviolet" and is ALSO on the job market. So go see his poster, too!
Right in time to announce Ph.D. positions in my group, and broadly in our astrophysics program for this Fall 2023.
And to add - @Gizmodo has ranked @VanderbiltU as one of the "universities with the best astronomy and astrophysics programs." !! 🚀🌠

1/ #ESO60Years What discoveries do we expect to enable in the next decades?
Time for our second expected discovery. This time we have a bunch of discoveries right here close to us.
