We all at times have been far to harsh on players, even when we have tried our best not to be, myself included. Konate is a prime example of it. Lost his dad and friend over the season.
Wish him all the best and glad we got five good years of him.
I think it was the right decision for all involved, but it does feel sad that it didn’t work out for the long run.
He has always come across to me as a lovely guy, who last season got dealt a really tough hand and dealt with it the best he could in horrific circumstances.
Obviously been very critical of him this season but nothing can take away from what he delivered last season. Some of the very best memories you'll ever have as a Liverpool supporter. It's for the best but he's more than earned his place in the club's history 🫡
On a serious note, will forever be grateful for what Arne achieved in his first season, giving me one of the greatest days of my life, and how he handled such a terrible situation last summer with grace, dignity and class
But it was clear to see that a lot of bridges were burned with players and fans, and it’s hard to claw that back. The season was a failure, clear and simple, and coming off of the backdrop of the record expenditure it didn’t paint a good picture
The fact of the matter is unfortunately it was 18 straight months of regression in the quality of football, the style of play and the results, and that just makes his position untenable, in combination with all the dressing room drama that has gone on, this was simply the best solution for all parties
'Never stopped fighting' is just wrong. I saw them give up on the pitch multiple times. Say what you want about the manager and what his future should hold but half of these players need a rocket up the backside too. Some of them do not get it.
One of my favourites ever Robbo. People talk about Trent.. and rightly so, he was brilliant.. but Robbo was every bit as good on the other side. If there was one player you could always count on to run through a brick wall for Liverpool over the last decade, it was him. Legend.
