@iluvmidpac@juarez_jos14922@MinuteNerdNews Nobody wants to watch a show ONLY about the psychology of things. Doom Patrol gives you great emotional arcs and the weirdest shit you can get a way with putting on a DC show. We the spectacle and flair to be translated on screen as well as captivating writing.
@KhotsoNkhathoj1@CQuill97 I for one thought the show was great, but it fails as a comic book adaptation. You are right that two things can be true. You have people saying that some of the most crucial elements add nothing to the story and that’s insane to me
@KhotsoNkhathoj1@CQuill97 Yall act as if comic fans only enjoy things if they are “comic accurate” when all we ask is be good and HONOR the source material
my boyfriend told me he couldn’t do anything for my birthday because money was tight. i told him it was fine and genuinely meant it. that evening, he came home with a small paper bag and said, “i got you something, but don’t laugh.” i opened it expecting chocolate or maybe a little perfume. instead, there was a receipt folded inside the bag.i looked at him like he had lost his mind and asked…
@CathHughes6@MinuteNerdNews The show does not embrace the wholeness of the lore. I think it does good things to expand the DCU, but this is not a good Green Lantern project. Reslism kills something in comic media every time
@Phoopppp My original point was the writing is good, it’s just not some intellectual masterpiece as you made it seem. The characters work well off of each other and their arc does most the heavy lifting. The plot itself isn’t that strong nor is it’s mystery.
@Phoopppp It was, the finale was great for what this show was. The character work was done well enough that you don’t care that nothing is really happening
@Phoopppp@GitBizzyBabay I mean the writing is good, but it’s not some intellectual hallmark. The mystery aspect falls flat when you put the pieces together. You can solve it by episode 4 it’s really all about the why that point after.
