Heads-up! Full PhD scholarship in the research group led by me and @JulieCairney at the globally top-20
@Sydney_Uni. Thank you for sharing/re-tweeting!
Great coverage on Channel Nine News of our breakthrough research “Photonic radar for vital sign detection” published in Nature Photonics - https://t.co/C8OG6j33ux @EggletonLab
Dr @OmidKavehei, @Sydney_Uni said: "This initiative is going to deliver a much needed education and training-model in the semiconductor sector in response to our emerging demand in the highly specialised semiconductor and chip design workforce".
The launch of the new micro-credentials follows the NSW Government's recent $4 million investment to establish the Semiconductor Sector Service Bureau (S3B) which will build capability and talent in the semiconductor industry. Read more here: https://t.co/SDLveE4tkk
S3B Director @CourtNadia said by 2025, the leading use of semiconductors is expected to be in smartphones.
"The use of semiconductors in the automotive industry is also expected to triple with an increase in autonomous driving and e-mobility."
#Semiconductors & #advancedmanufacturing are set to get a boost in NSW, with @Sydney_Uni, @Cadence & @WestSydCity today announcing new 3 micro-credentials which will build knowledge, skills and experience in designing semiconductors.

Australia's Chief Scientist has released a paper that charts Australia’s success in #quantum technologies. It highlights lessons learnt for scaling up other sectors, critical to shaping Australia’s industries over the next two decades. Read the full report https://t.co/QKhQ9GTIAI
Exciting to see this policy brief from @ASPI_org on “Australia’s semiconductor national moonshot” which builds on the Australian Semiconductor Sector Study conducted by @SydneyNano https://t.co/BAa2a97zaA https://t.co/oPdq1uMNBx
So great to have two important guests at @SydneyNano today: Prof Ho Lin, the delegate of Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council in Australia, and Jill Lai, the delegate of Ministry of Education, with a tour by @CourtNadia. And yes, this selfie is after what Ben does 😂
Discussing how to build the number of STEM graduates to meet the needs of Australia’s future quantum industry. Need to bust the myth that Professor is the only career pathway. #SydneyQuantum
NSSN Co-Director Prof. Ben Eggleton spoke today on the future of quantum sensing at the @SydneyQuantum Academy.
Sydney is home to an impressive and growing array of facilities for world-class #quantum R&D
