(she/her) Associate Publicist @PrincetonUPress. Bookseller Rising Star 2022 💫 My views are my own. Coynie Reads on YouTube, 29, history/musical theatre nerd
Really thrilled to have been chosen to be one of the @thebookseller's Rising Stars of 2022 and incredibly grateful to my manager @KateFT for nominating me and for being such a huge support to me this past year and a half working at @PrincetonUPress ❤️📚
My hope is that Colin Firth actually is in Bridget Jones 4, and the marketing team have deliberately left him off the announcements to drive up engagement. But if they are adapting the third book... 😬

Also, if given the choice I'd much prefer to record songs for posterity in a studio with a big film orchestra rather than with just a film set pianist- who's been locked away in a soundproof box- & a click track in my ears. But that's just me! 🤷♀️
I’ll give the benefit of the doubt that being experienced singers, Ariana & Cynthia will know when they are getting tired and stop before they strain their voices, but I am weary of directors flexing live vocals in musical films like it isn’t dangerous for long term vocal health
‘Wicked’ director Jon M. Chu tells Vanity Fair that the singing in the film is live vocals:
“These are live vocals. When we were shooting it, those girls were like, ‘F**k the pre-records. We’re going live.’”
It’s not singing live at all that is the issue, it’s singing the same bit of music full tilt, take after take, for HOURS on end on a film set in not optimal conditions. You have to be really, really careful and some directors of musical films have demonstrated that they are NOT.
Here I am with @PrincetonUPress colleagues @carmen_jimenezv & @CoynieReads about to jump on a @GWRHelp train to the annual @publicitycircle awards for which they are shortlisted for publicity campaigns for these 3 terrific books! Keeping all our fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞🏆📚📚📚

@SarahLAlsop At this point there’s a special section of my annual book budget dedicated to Jennifer Saint’s books purely because they are so stunning I can’t not buy them as soon as they come out 😂
NO SHADE! But when we gonna get a romance movie where the girl takes EVERYTHING the billionaire gives her? Like, why it’s always the “noo pls sir don’t spend $50 on me i got it 🥺” always getting the man?? Give me a movie where she’s like, “give me 2 million I’m going shopping!”
