@louisetickle@SurreyCouncil@hansummers@ObserverUK There is also the risk of holding one single person responsible for the decision when actually the whole system is at fault. Having a single judge (with individual human biases) and massively limited resources means pressured decisions, limited reflection and bad outcomes.
@louisetickle@SurreyCouncil@hansummers@ObserverUK The adversarial system also seems to create the illusion of one “better” or safer” parent, whereas in some cases there are risks with both. Being more specific about these risks (the likelihood, severity, frequency etc) would assist in decision making.
Manchester folk, check out our viewing of The Nettle Dress and help our fundraiser to save Ryebank Fields. Tomorrow afternoon…. tickets: https://t.co/7k1guZ3F4p
Interesting article in the Guardian about the potential harm of therapy. (Slight blurring psychologist / psychotherapist and whether psychologists can diagnose, but still). They’re asking for stories of therapy that’s gone badly at the end… https://t.co/yfsD6nKwfj
@DrProudman It is one of the main things about family court that could be improved upon - an awareness of the impact of trauma on the families that are caught within the system, and the (re)traumatising impact of the court processes on people within it; iatrogenic harm.
Aww @ward_esme Thank you! It was a delight showing you round, sharing ideas and dreaming up schemes 💚 We can see how @McrMuseum under your creative care is such a genuine force for good, supporting communities to build a more sustainable world 🌍#ConnectToProtect#WildService
@RamonesKaraoke Amazing, thank you. I’ll ask the group about possibly making some. I’m not confident I could but the group might be! I just placed an order for the other microphone (got giddy 😂). I’ll send you a message about things. Thanks for your help!
@RamonesKaraoke I went on a batwalk this evening and tested this amazing app on my iPhone. No added microphone… it picked up more than the two bat detectors others had with them. They couldn’t believe it. Tell me it’s real, please 😊
@RamonesKaraoke Thank you for your swift response! Which microphone do you suggest? We are trying to save some amazing rewilded fields from destruction for private builds. Bats, badgers, foxes, all sorts of insects… happy to invest but probably o my need one 😊
@spartanmatt_w@mathewhbenham No problem. It was taken from the Greater Manchester Open Data Infrastructure Map (GMODIN). I can’t open the link now for some reason, it’s saying it’s compromised. https://t.co/h6n8jAvpQE
@spartanmatt_w@mathewhbenham Sorry Matt, but it’s not listed as brownfield and is therefore classed as greenfield. This has been confirmed by the council. Have you been able to establish a definition of affordable, by any chance? I would be really grateful to hear / see it, if so.
@spartanmatt_w@mathewhbenham Hello 👋 Are you aware that the councillors’ stated preference is for Ryebank Fields not to be built on? And that multiple other housing projects are ongoing in Chorlton without resistance? It isn’t NIMBYism. It’s resisting the destruction of greenfield land for profit.
@mathewhbenham I found the photo of that day 😊 (no concerns about NHS patients and everyone was happy to be involved).
Meeting with a limited number of FORF and a consultation on plans with a PR firm isn’t the same as a public meeting with councillors. I’m sure you’d agree 😉
@mathewhbenham Perhaps an NHS venue isn’t the best for that reason (amongst others). Might a public meeting in a suitable venue be a better idea? I know lots of people who are very concerned about the destruction of Ryebank Fields who would value a meeting,
