Main findings: 1) dendritic spines in peri-infarct and ipsi motor cortex most disrupted by stroke but generally recover by 6 wks, 2) ipsi S2 and contra-lateral S1 show minimal changes despite extensive connections, 3) neurons innervating stroke site survive just fine (supp fig).

@jonjazzpics Thanks! We speculate in the discussion but don’t know. However since inhibiting notch can promote angiogenesis in mature brain, Perhaps could be useful in disease conditions where inducing angiogenesis could be beneficial. Stroke, dementia perhaps? More work to be done.
