Braylon Payne has a .333 ISO as a 19-year old in High-A.
Since at least 2006 only 1 teenager has finished with an ISO over .300 in High-A with 130+ plate appearances, Junior Caminero in 2023.
Below is a list of top teenager ISOs at High-A with 130+ PA over the past 20 seasons.
@BiloxiShuckers Not that it matters much, but the official scorer didn’t award him the ground rule double despite the ball bouncing over the fence because he didn’t touch second base. An awesome walk off hit nevertheless.
Brewers OF Brailyn Antunez hit a majestic HR that ricocheted off the batter’s eye. Elite hands and bat speed. Creating loft with a short swing. This was a thing of beauty. Only 18 y/o. 2025 IFA from ZV. 114 mph EV 🔥
The Brewers 20th Rd selection, Holden managed to land $410,000 and fits the Brewers profile. He can run his high spin FB into the mid 90's and will touch the 80's with a slider and upper 70's with a curve, both of which will flirt with 3000 RPM. He also mixes in a solid CH. A two-way player, Holden was seen as more of an RP projection, but managed to go 5 without command issues in his debut. Perhaps focusing on pitching and the Brewers vaunted pitching lab are helping iron out the kinks. If so, Holden has major upside compared to his pedigree. The stuff is very real and there are shades of Think Hence with a fuller frame here.
Brewers have the youngest collection of age-to-level talent in the minors… by a lot
Hitters nearly 1.5 years younger than league average. Pitchers close to 1.25 years younger than league expected age.
They average 6 months younger than next youngest closest org, the Guardians.
Jacob Misiorowski has 6 102+ mph pitches tonight.
Only 4 MLB SPs have thrown 6 102+ mph pitchers in their careers in the Statcast era (2008-2026).
Misiorowski's 18 102+ career pitches is easily the most by any MLB SP. Hunter Greene is second with 12.
Braylon Payne is off to a phenomenal start to the season for High-A Wisconsin.
