crepaldiLab

A research group led by @crepaldiDavide at SISSA. We're interested in the Cognitive Neuroscience of language, learning and reading.

Our dear peeps, this account is going to close. Our work should feed understanding, compassion and commonality, and this platform is doing quite the opposite. You can keep following our work here, https://t.co/YHS4F9UlsI. Peace&love everyone!

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

New work from the lab, peeps -- https://t.co/N6kd8iT6GX. With the wonderful Jon Carr, we find that readers target words where they expect to minimize uncertainty. Postprint, data and code freely available from Jon's website -- https://t.co/yTIE42V6Vp

New work from the lab, peeps -- https://t.co/OoNKuEUktH. Out now in @jneurolang ❤️🎉. Led by the wonderful @mararosade -- in collaboration with @LoVignali, Anna D'Urso, Maria Ktori and @BottiniRob

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

Very proud of our fresh new PhD @OlgaSolaja! 🎉❤️😎🎓 And thanks a lot to @SeverineCasalis, @claudio_mulatti, Lisi @beyersmann and Sendy Caffarra for making a wonderful committee! Yaiiiiii!

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

Daboss @CrepaldiDavide ancora a zonzo a raccontare le nostre cosine. Questa volta a Milano, a Sfide-la scuola di tutti e @Falacosa_Giusta. Appuntamento domenica 24 marzo, 11.30! #spritztime #lettura #neuroscienze

Hey peeps! A new postdoc position is opening up in the lab, on a shared grant with @BottiniRob. Submissions are most welcome from anybody interested in reading, word meaning and statistical learning. Informal inquiries are most welcome! Apply here - https://t.co/7PpHEERLOY

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

We’ve been lucky enough to have you as our neighbor for a few years. Among many other things, we learned that criticism is a powerful growth factor, when it’s kind. Thanks John!

[SISSA @Sissaschool]

SISSA mourns the loss of Professor John Nicholls – neuroscientist, colleague, mentor and friend – who passed away on July 13, 2023. His profound contributions to neurobiology and unwavering dedication to our university for over 20 years will forever be treasured.

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

New work from the lab, peeps! A quick blitz out of language 🥷. We show that the ventral stream stores shape information in both sighted and blind ➡️ independently of visual experience. Couldn’t resist looking into the semantic system; as always, that was quite more elusive 😜

[Roberto Bottini @BottiniRob]

Finally out in Plos Bio our work on shared shape representation in sighted and blind! Joint work with wonderful friends @CollignonOlivi1 @CrepaldiDavide @xuyangwen1 @FedericaSigism1 @LoVignali https://t.co/PZWfb7fLka

[Kate Nation @ReadOxford]

Interested in connections between psychological science and realising potential in the classroom?

*New job alert* 4-year research fellowship @OxExpPsy

Ideal post for those at advanced post-doc stage.

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

Our latest preprint is now out -- https://t.co/sooDVNIC84. We used Fast Periodic Visual Stimulation #fpvs and #MEG to study the sensitivity of the reading brain to form and meaning regularities. Led by the marvellous @mararosade, in collab with @BottiniRob.

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

It was a fantastic year for our former lab members! In addition to Irmak and Sasha joining wonderful PhD programs, two of our previous postdocs — Jarek Lelonkiewicz and @YamilVidal_arg — got a very prestigious @MSCActions. We’re proud of you guys!

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

It’s a bit sad to see you go, girls, but we’re proud to have harbored your talents for a while! Irmak Ergin will now pursue her PhD at @StanfordPsych with @GwilliamsL, @s_kenjeeva will join a PhD in CogScie and AI at @TilburgU. Have fun!

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

The latest work from the lab is now out -- https://t.co/foXUMvzk8z. Led by @LoVignali, in collaboration with @CollignonOlivi1 and @BottiniRob ❤️. Through MEG, we show the timecourse of transmodal/linguistic vs. perceptual info during word processing. Which comes first?

[Raffaella Rumiati @RafRumiati]

I am about to open a 2-yr postdoctoral position on brain plasticity and cognitive reserve. Contact me if you wish to find out more.

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

@s_kenjeeva It was lovely to have you @s_kenjeeva. Thanks for our time together. Now on to the next step! ❤️💪

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

New funding for the lab, yeah! We got a 2-year grant to study statistical learning, reading and the geometry of the orthographic and the semantic space. A new postdoc position will be open soon — contact daboss @CrepaldiDavide if you’re interested!

[Laura Gwilliams @GwilliamsL]

⚡️The Laboratory of Speech Neuroscience @StanfordBrain is hiring a Lab Manager!⚡️

Successful candidates will have a passion for scientific discovery and a love of IRB protocols :)

To be considered, please complete this application: https://t.co/YhzJacM2XF

Grateful for RTs! 🙌

Meno male che ogni tanto qualcuno risponde a 'sti tromboni da mezza lira.

[crepaldiLab @CrepaldiLab]

Doesn’t happen often that someone gets two talks at ACL, and even less often that this someone is a former lab member — congrats @gsarti_, you rock!

[Gabriele Sarti @ EMNLP @gsarti_]

Looking forward to presenting @InseqLib and my @AmazonScience internship paper in Toronto this summer! 🥳 Very thankful to all my amazing coauthors for this double #ACL2023NLP acceptance! 🤗

[Davide Crepaldi @CrepaldiDavide]

My edited book is on sale! And in perfect tune with the American sense of the word, you've got some discount until May 2 😜 -- https://t.co/Hxlvmdy4oj
