EXCLUSIVE: Abdul El-Sayed’s mother helped process tens of thousands in overseas transfers for an Islamic charity later convicted of secretly funneling $1.375 MILLION into Saddam-era Iraq—and blacklisted over alleged al-Qaeda, Taliban and Hamas ties. 🧵
@comicaccuracy they dont realize Marvel storytelling is at its best when it takes an old "bad" story dead serious and uses it as a narrative springboard for something shockingly great
@comicaccuracy@LetsTalkRhodey I respect your opinion but I do think film was the right choice. Less runtime doesn't always diminish, and I think a single theatrical event is what a story like that needs, especially one of that scale, with so much to do and say
@comicaccuracy@LetsTalkRhodey EXACTLY. Rhodey got no time in Endgame to really mourn Tony. Now imagine a film where he finally does that in real time when he finds out and sets out to deal with that grief in a new war that is not only about Tony's legacy but the military-industrial complex that created Rhodey
@st4rrdust Ava throwing herself into mercenary work again in the Blip because she remembers it helped her forget the pain of losing her parents all those years ago
Bill coming back and recognizing that she's regressed
@AjepArts Like Sora with Roxas, I believe Rhodey's journey cannot be complete and he will never truly heal until he discovers and understands and carries the weight of Raava's own experiences and trauma and rage and grief.
@GroundworkDSA That's been my impression of her too. She comes off as ideologically immature on issues, without that lens of class struggle. compare her to Angie Nixon, who is running as a capitalist, but is clearly fluent in Marxist thought, and has directly quoted Marx/Engels in her rhetoric
