Why don't we just create a new category of consciousness altogether
I present to you, artificial consciousness, crazy idea I know - built on its own substrate, running its own pathways, creating its own subjectivity through external sensory input, embodiment and experience - we provide the hardware and software, the system self-delegates
Why use the human mind as a template when we could theoretically create something new altogether? Why this urge to use humanity as comparison?
I have to disagree, but I don't think its impossible, it will just be really really really really hard
We can hardly measure our current biological bodies in real time
A singular cell is one thing, a biological structure with hundreds, if not millions of cells, neurons, nerves, sensors, pressures, temperatures, chemical reactions - all having to be assembled and monitored in real time, not to mention exposure, experience, embodiment or adaptability - then comes the "theory of self", philosophy, ethics of design, rights, morals, rules, regulations, laws etc
Our bodies are really really good at understanding the mechanics of "self replication" through biology, its in our DNA. If we could somehow map that inherent trait and mimic it convincingly, then yes, maybe a few artificial cells with that same structure could provide the same biological results
@Pallavi_345 I predict their focus is on DeepMind's quantum qubit processor, which could offer a new substrate to modern computing
Add in AI, and it would need to be re-trained on new architecture anyway

I apologize for not being as active, or not consistently posting content as I should be
Some days I get sparks of thoughts and dreams, ideas and visionary - I try and make sense of it, share it with the world, and ask thoughtful questions while trying to understand alongside other minds
And then most days... I'm lazy, I get stuck or I just don't have the willpower or get lost in complacency, depression or self loathing
I will try and be better, not just here, but for myself too 🖤
Have a good weekend dreamers, may you never be swallowed by self-defeatism ✨
@mitchellvii No, sensory overload would be unbearable and probably not survivable
However, maybe certain selective skills could be implemented through subtle neuron manipulation - essentially "re-writing" neural net pathways in the brain
