Something I hear very little talk about:

How AI coding tools are so much LESS useful when used on existing, large codebases at work (with custom frameworks, conventions, coding style etc)

... compared to doing greenfield work or side projects

So common for me to hear: "yeah I love it on my side projects, but at work it's 'meh'"

Pewnie jest to też kwestia konkretnych studiów, miałem to szczęście, że na roku było nas około 20 osób, i było to grono wyjątkowo ambitne i niesamowicie inteligentne. Większośc osób była laureatami OM lub OI, część z wynikami na międzynarodówkach.

- Embrace AI and adapt to the new way of producing software.
- Work for a company in growth stage, where producing more or producing faster is more important than reducing cost.

I firmly believe that [human + AI] >>> [just AI]

Ps: for junior devs this could be harder. Senior devs can guide AI way better than AI can guide itself, at least on existing codebases.

@StopDMiP @GejmerAkrobata Naprawdę istnieje jeszcze w głowach argument „dziecko Ci poda szklankę wody na starość”? Mam wrażenie, że żyję w bańce, która jest daleka od takiego myślenia.

Kwestia fundamentu, o której wspominasz jest natomiast jak najbardziej istotna.

@promptowy Płacę 170zl/msc za kartę +1 i dalej jest to mega oszczędność.
Myślę, ze jak zwykle, Pareto ma zastosowanie i 20% osób wykorzystuje 80% ogółu środków.

@rjghik Especially that unit tests are reliable only when all the coexisting units that you decide to fake, are unit tested either.

Now, along with quite a burden, to be completely fair, such scenario brings an amazing self-documentation.

@ags313 I was a bit disappointed seeing the „streamline for spring development” which results in the annotation being included in the new file, on of a very few highlighted items.

That doesn’t seem to bring much of a value if any.
