'Enzo Fernández became only the sixth player to be sent off in a World Cup final (and the third Argentine) and truly, nobody deserved it more.
'This is the man who, in 2024, was mired in a racism controversy when he broadcast a video on Instagram Live showing himself and Argentina team-mates singing a discriminatory chant about France’s players, mocking their African heritage and throwing in a few homophobic slurs.
'The Chelsea co-captain further endeared himself to his adopted land before the final, insisting that he had respect for the English “because everybody who cleans and cooks in our house is English”.'
But in a profoundly chastening final for Argentina, where they were not so much outplayed as emasculated, @oliverbrown_tel says he received his comeuppance at last 👇

We have reached an agreement with Beşiktaş for the permanent transfer of Leandro Trossard.
We will provide a further update once the transfer has been completed.
@InvertTheWing Agree it should be a red. The only way I can see it not being a red is because there isn’t enough force. Still high.. ref had perfect view. I just don’t understand the refereeing in this league
@tblairockstar I’m at Leeds now & did my ALevels last yr. I’m doing IR so mix with a lot of politics students. Not many of them actually got the required AAB, most got an A then B/C B/B or even BBB. One of my friends got BBB doing politics. Honestly, don’t overthink it. Hopefully will be fine🤞
