No, Visa has not announced an acquisition of Fireblocks.X
On October 22, 2026, Axios reported that Visa was in late-stage talks to acquire Fireblocks (a crypto custody and stablecoin infrastructure firm) for around $2.5 billion. Multiple outlets quickly covered the report, noting it would be well below Fireblocks’ prior $8 billion valuation from its 2022 Series E round and that the two companies already work together (Fireblocks supports infrastructure for Visa’s stablecoin-linked card programs).Cryptobriefing
However, Fireblocks has denied the report. A spokesperson told The Block: “This is news to us, and not true at present time.” (Similar statements were reported elsewhere, including in Israeli media.) Visa said it does not comment on rumors or speculation.X
In short: There is a media report of advanced talks, but no official announcement of a deal from either company, and Fireblocks has rejected the claim.

@ChairmanSelig@CFTC@Varneyco So announce the regulation and lets get it done. What are we waiting on? Are the banks and Wall Street loading up on Crypto off the OTC? Retail always last so that institutions can profit? Having a hard time believing this will get done before midterms.
The @CFTC's regulatory framework for crypto asset exchanges is modeled after the two-tiered bank charter regime to allow exchanges to opt in to comprehensive federal regulation and engage in a broader range of permissible market activities–or remain licensed under the patchwork of state money transmitter laws and continue to provide the payments services authorized under these licenses.
