🚨 SAVE LUCY: A Soldier Saved Her in War. Now She Faces Death Over a MINOR Complaint at Home
Lucy is an 11-year-old dog who survived the Middle East and was brought home by U.S. Army veteran Brendan Jones after they bonded during deployment.
She has been with his family for 10 years and has never spent a day away from them… until now.
Lucy is currently sitting in the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter in Edinburg, Virginia, facing possible e*thanasia.
She is sitting there confused and alone after a lifetime with the family who loves her.
A year ago, Lucy had a single incident while recovering from surgery, medicated, and wearing a cone. A jogger’s arm reached inside the cone, and she reacted with one defensive nip, then immediately let go. Even that person did not want to press charges.
After that, the county labeled Lucy a dangerous dog.
On April 17th in Strasburg, Lucy slipped out of her collar for a few seconds on her own property and barked at someone walking by. She did not attack anyone and never left the yard.
That was enough for her to be taken.
Now she is sitting in a cage after a lifetime with her family.
Lucy is not dangerous. She is a senior dog who deserves to spend her final years with the family who loves her.
📞 PLEASE TAKE ACTION - COURT DATE IS MAY 8

This is what feminism never talks about:
The daughters who grow up hearing they were the reason their mothers didn’t chase their dreams. I know I heard it from my own mother. How she never got to chase her dreams of college because she had me. Kids just like me, all over the world, who became symbols of missed degrees, stalled careers, and unfulfilled ambitions. Every time she looked at me she saw all the things she never got to do.
Children treated like obstacles instead of gifts.
Feminism told women that we were enslaved by motherhood. That our value was somewhere “out there”, in an office, a title, a diploma. Always out there, never in our homes, never with our families.
So now there’s a generation of children being raised by women who saw them as the death of their potential. Not as the blessings they are. This is what happens when you convince women that motherhood is a curse. You don’t just ruin womanhood. You poison the home. You raise children who grow up feeling like burdens, and what a cruel burden that is to place on a child.
@KSpikefish@clareanneath Ignore the negative comments. Your wife will be fine! After 20y as a SAHM, I upskilled via a tech bootcamp and immediately landed a role at 85% of what my husband was making as a SWE after 2 decades. I spent those years frequently taunted by people about how I’d never find a job.
😭 There are some surrenders that leave a permanent scar on everyone who witnesses them, and Goose’s story is one of them. On March 15th, a man walked into the shelter with his heart visibly breaking, begging for help.
⏳ DEADLINE DATE: 3/25/2026
He wasn't leaving Goose because he didn't want him; he was leaving him because he loved him too much to let him suffer in a drastic, dangerous living situation. The owner was so choked up he could barely speak, but he knew that for Goose to be safe, he had to let him go. Goose is 5 years old, and this man is the only world he’s ever known.
Goose is a 68lb Brindle Dutch Shepherd/Pit Bull mix who is the definition of shattered. In his home, he was the perfect best friend - a playful, cuddly boy who lived peacefully with a Great Dane and spent his days playing fetch and using his doggy door like a pro. He is fully house-trained, kennel-trained, and has never shown a shred of aggression toward people or other dogs. He is a "great dog" in every sense of the word, a loyal friend who just wants to run and seek out the attention he’s been used to for 5 years.
But inside these concrete walls, Goose is falling apart. He’s so distraught and confused that he spends his time trembling, his wide eyes searching every face for the one person who isn't coming back. He flinches at every loud noise and walks with his tail tucked so tight it breaks your heart just to look at him. He isn't eating, and he spends his time in the yard pacing the fence, looking for an exit, looking for home. He is a sensitive, grieving boy who is quite literally dying of a broken heart.
Goose #A4621191
Age: 5 Years
Sex: Neutered Male
Weight: 68 lbs
Breed: Dutch Shepherd / Pit Bull Terrier Mix
THIS DOG IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR DIRECT ADOPTION. Because of his level of distress, Goose needs a New Hope rescue partner to pull him into a foster home where he can finally stop shaking and start healing.
How you can help:
💜Apply at https://t.co/bW5p1fQj6Z immediately
💜Please share Goose's story far and wide. We are looking for a hero to step up for a dog who lost everything through no fault of his own.
💜Post your pledges in the comments to help a rescue cover the costs of saving this beautiful, brindle boy.
💜We do NOT have the owners information. I am not the shelter. I do not have access to this information and therefore, I am unable to communicate with the owner in an attempt to help them with their situation. The best thing we can do is save this dog.

@jjbelove@iam_preethi I essentially spent 10+ years of my life nursing 3 babies! It is definitely work beyond a certain point, but the benefits outweigh that.
@jjbelove@iam_preethi I’m in the 3-4y per baby club. My son, who nursed 3-1/2 years is already 6’2” at age 14. Personally, I did start getting a bit restless around the 2-2.5 year mark, but I committed to the idea of self-directed weaning, so I stuck with it.
This is Humberto - 1yr old Shepherd
He returned to the Shelter on 2/18 by his owners. Stating they didn’t feel comfortable with him around their baby. No incidents happened to cause this decision. They stated he was fine with the rest of the family & their other dog.
Because of this LANCASTER SHELTER has him noted for Euthanasia TOMORROW SAT 2/21. They gave him 3 days! He has one post up that was made today. This is the amount of time they give us networkers to try and save these perfectly adoptable dogs.
He has a PERFECT behavior score. ⬇️
