@VeggieBLT That's Greedo as a teenager on the right being taken to lunch by his dad. They hadn't seen each other since Greedo was a toddler and his dad had to cut lunch short "to do some things". Greedo never saw him again. Years later Greedo was murdered by drug dealer. Dads matter.
@Is_Not_Brian I agree w Siskel but I see Ebert's point. I think Ebert kind of mistakes the trees for the forest. The movie isn't making fun of black message movies so much as the tropes in those movies and how well-intentioned movies can seem condescending, patronizing and simplistic.

@billyjarrettugh George C. Scott has the mien of a "serious actor" who ONLY worked w the most acclaimed directors and won every acting award multiple times. He won the AA for Patton and a couple of emmies...and he's in crap like Exorcist 3 & Firestarter.
