I was playing golf last weekend, and I hit two drives that finished about 5 yards apart.
You could have put a blanket across the two.
Weirdly... one drive felt perfect, and the other one felt like I completely missed the ball.
If I hadn't watched them land, I would've sworn one was a disaster.
That's when I realized most business owners judge ads exactly like amateur golfers.
(I did the same when I was starting my Creative Strategy journey)
I remember making 5 creatives for a client, and one of them I was SUPER proud of.
It just felt right. (Perfect awareness, great hook, unique format, matched our brand exquisitely...)
Then there was another one I almost didn't submit. It was sorta... "meh".
Naturally, I expected my favorite to win.
It didn't.
The "meh" ad ended up WAY outperforming it.
More clicks, purchases, ROAs... the whole nine yards. (Golf pun intended)
And that's when the lesson really clicked.
Most founders kill ads too fast that feel wrong.
And keep ads that feel right.
Some of the best-performing ads I've ever seen would never win a creative award in a billion years.
And some of the prettiest, most polished ads I've ever seen couldn't sell water in a desert.
In golf, the scorecard doesn't care how the swing felt.
In creative strategy, the customer doesn't care how the ad felt.
Results always come first... opinions second.
See ya,
Noah Stachowicz

I’ll tell you why I blame Napier for this loss, not Lagway.
It’s simple. Good teams find ways to win games. Bad teams find ways to lose games.
No, Napier can’t run out and play QB for DJ. But it’s always something. It’s just Lagway THIS time.
If it’s not Lagway throwing four picks, it’s having the worst defense in school history in 2022.
Or our two-position-coached OL unit being woefully unprepared to do battle in the trenches in a season opener.
Or two players wearing the same jersey number and going on the field for the same play.
Or Anthony Richardson just not materializing into what we thought.
Or our special teams unit not being able to execute the field goal fire drill (twice).
Or our defense giving up a school record 702 yards and then a fate-sealing 4th and 17 in back to back weeks.
Or Napier deploying any of a long list of objectively dumb strategies, like the ill-designed double reverse against FSU in 2023, asking Mertz and not Lagway to do a QB sneak against Tennessee last year, the fake jet sweep shovel pass to Zanders against Utah on 4th and 3, or completely fucking up the end-of-game sequence with the clock last week… etc.
Napier is now 20-21 at Florida. He’s been a central ingredient to every single game since he got here. As the players and even some assistants changed over from year to year, he’s the constant.
And when you’re at Florida for 3.25 seasons and you lose more games than you win with all the resources the job comes with, that’s just what you are. You’re a literal loser. By its very concrete definition, you’re a loser.
Evil is real. There is no doubt, the enemy is hard at work.
These last few days, the weight of evil has been heavy across our nation.
But this I know: It will not have the final word. One day, God will make all things right.
Until then, we pray. We weep with those who weep. And we keep fighting, knowing the victory has already been won.
Can a guy with a team that will finish 7-5 win the coach of the year award? He should!!
Billy Napier and @GatorsFB after being 4-5 and losing 2 straight, have beaten LSU and Ole Miss.
So impressive to see this fight from the Gators and their fans after having a tough year. And, oh yeah, DJ Lagway is the REAL DEAL! 🐊
While Kamala said that people who believe in Jesus don’t belong to her rallies, in our Movement—We love Christians, we welcome believers, and we embrace followers of Jesus…
Even the guy that @ScottStricklin was firing told him to hire Lane Kiffin.
But Stricklin wanted to hire a nice man over a winner.
And that’s how the #Gators hired the worst coach in school history.
