I think a lot of people are just waking up to how boring the Sony formula is. Go back to Spider-Man 2, SM1 or Ghost of Tsushima. Not sure how people didn’t feel the same about those games. Very formulaic(Felt the same about Halo infinite). I give them a pass on SM1, though.
@JezCorden These rumors are false. Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will stay exclusive. There are no conversations and have been no conversations to "reverse course." And as we said last week, players can continue to expect signature exclusives from us every year.
@falkor451@shinobi602 I think COVID caused an explosion in hiring in the industry and we’re seeing the affects and aftermath of it. In combination with AI, we’ll probably continue to see layoffs.
@itsJebediah I like how we didn’t bring in Bobby Okereke, Devin Lloyd or any other experienced vet. But we trusted Carlies who was injured for most of his time here. You can’t tell me that CJ Allen or Bryce Beottcher can’t play better than him
South of Midnight and Wolverine have the same metacritic and metacritic score, similar respective user scores and even had similar complaints(outdated combat, repetitive combat, shallow gameplay depth, complaints about traversing through the levels, odd boss fights, too easy etc)
Wolverine User Reviews So Far...
Trust in critics is loudly questioned lately. Here's what it looks like when you only look at user reviews. There's a major gap in scores when you strip away proof of ownership for Wolverine.
@PlayStation Users -- 9.5 equivalent.
*Every review comes from a verified owner of this game or item and is evaluated by a team of moderators.
@Metacritic Users -- 6.8
*Non-verified owners. Users may submit their ratings or reviews starting the day following the game's release date.
The numbers will be interesting to see over the next year. I don’t think it hits 5 million unless there’s really good DLC launching next year. Probably sells another 1.5m from the holiday rush and slow pushes above 4 million
95 million PS5s but PlayStation's flagship title of 2026 managed to sell only 1.9 million copies okay so what are the remaining 93 million PS5 users playing
Insane baiting. So now that Kojima is working with Xbox, DS2 gets singled out, amongst all games, as the game to beat for the writer? Why didn’t they choose Saros, Marathon or Marvel Tokon? This is the Xbox tax. Asha and Kojima will defeat the Xbox Tax.
@DMC_Ryan Very true, Ryan. I wish more conversations intended to produce constructive dialogue rather than just be an outward expression of hatred. It’s ok to disagree. It’s ok to not like someone’s work, too, but can we not treat each other like we’re the scum of the Earth while we speak?
@NeoGameSpark If your studio doesn’t close, use those assets in the next game. Only way to speed up trying to rebound from it. But Bungie should just move on to Destiny 3. Close Marathon down or just stop updating it. Move on.
A reminder of how much of a minority the “hardcore” gaming community really is. Makes you realize how bad the gamepass price increase was that it actually had the backlash that it did. Hitting people/corporations in the wallet gets the most attention. No backlash = no change.
@godfree it didn’t work because nobody stopped playing games on PlayStation and even if they did, it’s only people on twitter
IRL nobody even heard about this
