We've also publicly released our final report to NASA as the last in the series of grants that funded these projects came to a close in March. We were so proud of this mission we figured it was worth sharing with everyone.

Get to know @CubIXSS, a CubeSat the size of two shoeboxes set to revolutionize solar observation. Utilizing the innovative MOXSI, it will capture unprecedented soft X-ray data from solar flares, advancing solar physics & exploration. @SwRI@theAGU#AGU24 https://t.co/zZVAgu8Bf3
Discover how SunCET is revolutionizing solar observation by capturing unprecedented images of coronal mass ejections. Led by @LASPatCU & @JHUAPL, this breakthrough helps predict space weather, safeguarding satellites & power grids. @theAGU#AGU24 https://t.co/31BHoELGLY
The total solar #eclipse is just 49 days away! Scientists have big experiments in the works revolving around this cosmic phenomenon that could help better understand the sun. Great conversation with Dr. @astronamir at @SwRI — check out the conversation on @ksatnews
Special delivery! We just drove 10 CATE observing stations from Boulder to San Antonio, to host a workshop at @SwRI this weekend to train our intrepid and generous community lead coordinators! (The car was … a bit full.)
It’s getting real! Real crowded in the lab, that is. We’re prepping all the equipment for CATE to send to our local #eclipse2024 observing teams! 37 Pelican cases, 37 telescopes, 37 mounts & tripods, 37 cameras, 37 laptops… and lots of supporting gear. It’s all going out soon!
☀️ Do you love science experiments?!
Apply today for the Citizen CATE 2024 team! We are looking for passionate individuals living on the path who want to contribute to learning more about our Sun.

Annular eclipse LIVE STREAM tomorrow, Sat, Oct 14 at 10am MDT (12pm EDT, 9am PDT, 1700 UTC) from Loveland Pass, CO! Join @dbseaton & @astronamir to see the CATEcor homemade coronagraph experiment, learn about eclipses, & hear about Citizen CATE 2024!
https://t.co/Km94kDjEZa
We are going LIVE with our annular eclipse field test TODAY at 3pm MDT (5pm EDT, 2pm PDT, 2100 UTC). This will be a test stream for tomorrow’s eclipse but we will be talking about eclipses and showing off our experiment! Join us on @SwRI’s YouTube! https://t.co/LucLxIwPlv
My first podcast! Listen in to learn about the Sun & two upcoming solar eclipses — an annular eclipse on October 14, 2023 & a continent-crossing total eclipse on April 8, 2024 — plus 2 amazing experiments including @citizenCATE2024 & the @NASA WB-57 jets. Hope you enjoy it!
#PI_Daily in the lab this morning with @SunCETcubesat's lead electrical engineer and we took this picture with the camera system that SunCET will be flying in space in a couple years. You could say this is SunCET's first observation of a coronal mass ejection 🤣
These spectrometers measure single X-ray photons & generate spectra — counting how many photons at each energy (wavelength) were recorded per unit time. X-ray spectra from the solar corona will help us understand solar flares & how coronal plasma is heated to millions of Kelvin!
Doing surgery on an X-ray spectrometer today. This is to help out the PUNCH STEAM student instrument, but three of these spectrometers will fly as part of the SASS instrument suite on CubIXSS! (The spectrometer is on the left in the picture.)
