82 years ago today, victory hung by a thread.
We remember D-Day as a triumph. It didn’t feel that way on the morning of June 6, 1944.
The weather nearly called it off. Storms scattered the airborne troops miles from their drop zones. Currents dragged landing craft into the wrong sectors, far from the maps they’d memorized. Men drowned under the weight of their own packs before they ever touched sand.
And reaching the beach was not surviving it. At Omaha, the first waves of our boys stepped into a wall of fire. The plan dissolved in minutes. What carried the day wasn’t the plan — it was the men. Young Americans, seasick and soaked and far from home, who improvised when the orders failed, who climbed the bluffs under fire, who moved forward into almost certain death — so the man behind them might live.
They didn’t know they were winning. They only knew they couldn’t stop.
That foothold — clawed out of chaos by raw courage — opened the road that ended Nazi tyranny.
We owe them everything. 🇺🇸
I miss the girl I was when I was vulnerable, took risks every day, and truly didn’t care what people thought of me.
I can feel her coming back here & there… and I’m doing everything I can to keep her around.
Every day I strive to be the best version of myself because of this man. He loves all of my rough edges and has never pressured me to change or be quiet.
On the contrary, it’s like he puts a megaphone to the words coming out of my mouth and takes pictures of our ordinary moments together. I’ve never been loved like this.
Most importantly… he sees me.
He knows me in a way I never thought I could be known outside of my millions of journals or talks with my mom.
Every mile I ran, I thought about wanting to be the type of wife he deserves and the type of mother I’ve always wanted to be.
The foundation we are creating. The generational traumas we are breaking. The new traditions we are starting.
Rich in life bc this is the man I get to love forever.
He’s the coolest, hottest, smartest, sweetest, kindest, hardest working person I know.
Idk where I’m going w this other than gratitude & thanks. Social media has become so impersonal.
Idc who likes or sees this. Just wanna be real again.
Love y’all.
Today in Tampa, I outlined the Save Our Homes from Excessive Property Taxes plan that will eliminate taxes on homesteads.
Property tax revenue collected by local governments has nearly doubled in the past seven years (from $32 billion to $60 billion) and is expected to reach an astounding $83 billion by 2032.
Florida homeowners need relief. Now is the time to stand up for taxpayers, enact a historic reform, and save the home of every Floridian.
That’s right. Florida licenses and regulates gaming for a reason — illegal arcades dodge taxes, skip background checks, and prey on vulnerable players. We will continue to raid them, charge the operators, and claw back every dollar. @FLGamingControl
After warning illegal gambling operations to cease, the Florida Gaming Control Commission has stepped up raids and arrests as slot-machine arcades and hidden gambling dens increase in Southwest Florida and statewide. Know more now ... https://t.co/Hgb4rqzjbn
”But what is government itself, but the greatest of all reflections on human nature? If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.”
——James Madison, The Federalist No. 51
Bowling is totally optional. Risking millions on real estate, creating jobs, and maintenance is called entrepreneurship, not injustice — every inconvenience isn’t oppression.
NEW: Lucky Strike is accused of building an illegal bowling monopoly by acquiring hundreds of bowling alleys across the U.S.
If you've experienced higher bowling prices recently, you could be part of the class in this proposed class action lawsuit.

Ron DeSantis blasts Hakeem Jeffries, dares him to campaign in Florida.
"We are not going to be cowed by threats from some machine politician from Brooklyn. It doesn't work that way down here, that's not how we roll.”
One of the things I’m happy we did was send rebates to Prepaid families in recent years.
Since we’ve frozen tuition the expected cost of tuition was less and so more than $1 billion has been refunded.
Most other states would have spent that money instead of rebating it to the families.
109 illegal slot machines were destroyed today in Tallahassee at Leon Iron & Metal. After use in court, the Florida Gaming Control Commission crushes these machines to keep illegal gambling out of Florida communities.

NEW: American Nathan Martin wins the closest Los Angeles Marathon in race history, beating Kenya’s Michael Kimani Kamau by just 00.01 seconds.
Martin was seen chasing down Kamau at the end of the race.
“I made an actual move five miles out… when I saw no one else was picking up the pace. I decided I needed to push,” the 36-year-old said.
“At a mile and a half to go, I could see the leader and with 800 meters to go, I was thinking, ‘I’m catching him.’”
Martin finished the race with a time of 2 hours, 11 minutes, 16.50 seconds.
