never force relationships or communication. if it's not mutual, then let it go. people know exactly what they're doing. if they wanted to match your energy, they would. start rewarding inconsistency with unavailability. allow them to lose you because of their lack of effort
fear of communication is trauma based. you either feel like your voice doesn’t matter, you think expressing how you feel is going to bring negative consequences, or you’re used to being silenced or invalidated

Hurt people hurt people, in my experience this is true, except I see the people being hurt by the hurt people tend to get caught up in being hurt, and justifiably can be the victim, without noticing that sometimes the ones that hurt them are too victims of hurt, find the root.
