considering their roster – a good one, but certainly not a 60-win group on paper – and that their three best players are still only 24, 23, and 22, it's safe to say the Pistons overachieved in the regular season. and that's exactly what you want! but it set a high bar, so their overall showing in the Playoffs felt underwhelming, and Sunday's G7 blowout loss was a major disappointment, even though most would agree the Cavs were the far more talented team. but if you zoom out and look at the big picture, this Pistons season – top seed in the East and one win away from the Conference Finals – was absolutely a success. they weren't supposed to be this good this soon, and while we can all agree they're missing a piece or two – namely another reliable scorer – they've got something special in the 313.
@TheFineTerms@jmthrivept Unfortunately they employ physicians that help them justify their ridiculous decisions from a medical standpoint. Should count as a violation of the Hippocratic oath in situations like this if you ask me.
It's embarrassing to see so many conservatives attempting to justify Trump going to war with Iran. Donny Drumpf the Israeli cuck. Sending american citizens to fight Israel's battles isn't Making America Great Again to me.
It shouldn't bear repeating, but I'll say it anyway: War is not something to be encouraged! Soldiers either die on the battlefield or survive & spend the rest of their lives so irreparably damaged many of them wish they had died. Instead of trying to own the libs, all of you war horny freaks should try owning a soul.
@austinmpasquale@pitchergami A lot of these are coming up, and my running theory is that for most of baseball history, if you were dealing like that through 6.1, they didn’t pull you.
@employednt@AlexRoseGames@OpinionsAreGood@jack_whitcomb_ I think a better example would be you have 5 patients that all need one organ (each being different) while a singular patient needs all 5 of those organs. That sounds equivalent to the problem presented which I would say you save 5 lives
@employednt@AlexRoseGames@OpinionsAreGood@jack_whitcomb_ Yes they are, decide to let one die or let five die. And yes why wouldn’t different contexts allow for different reactions? Is it your take that you should mass screen everyone for organ donation and then force them to die when they match? When you extrapolate it sounds silly
@employednt@AlexRoseGames@OpinionsAreGood@jack_whitcomb_ Their consent was first violated when they were kidnapped, the person pulling the lever is as much a victim for being forced to make a decision. Utilitarianism dictates one should die over five, but that is not how it works in medicine. Patients are not hostages, not the same.
@employednt@AlexRoseGames@OpinionsAreGood@jack_whitcomb_ These aren’t equivalent examples at all. The equivalent of the doctor in the trolley problem is the person who ties the people down, NOT the person pulling the lever. A patient has to consent to organ donation, in the trolley problem they are taken against their will
