Today on my way to clinic, my Uber driver (who was an older white male) asked me “Oh! Are you a doctor?”. His FIRST guess. I am 40. I became an MD at 26. Today was the first time a non-Black person heard I was “headed to a clinic” and guessed that I was a doctor. It felt nice. 🤓
#STOPASIANHATE Growing up it was normal for me to hear “Go Back To China” or “chink” or “gook”...fast forward 20 years later this is our current reality once again. Asians are being attacked and no one is covering it on mainstream media. We need to stop this now!
