“Secret Ballot = Freedom of Conscience”
Councillors must vote without fear. A secret ballot protects them from intimidation.
This is not about party politics — it’s about giving councillors their voice back.
#SecretBallotNow#VoteWithConscience
“Council Belongs to the People”
The Speaker’s job is to protect order and democracy, but she has allowed disruptions, bias, and intimidation since 2021.
Cape Town deserves a Speaker who respects ALL voices.
#PeopleOverPolitics#RestoreTrust@highlight
“Fairness for All Councillors”
A Speaker must serve the whole Council, not just her friends.
When councillors are ridiculed for voting against the Mayor’s budget, it’s the people who suffer.
We demand fairness, dignity, and accountability in our Council!

@CityofCT@zakareeee@geordinhl your Mayoral Committee member you refused to remove when his office was raided is also the MMC responsible for this department. He MUST answer and not be responsible to watch over this investigation.
@CityofCT@zakareeee In terms of the events policy section 10.3.9.8 this is a violation and the Company must be investigated who has been supported with a total of R600 thousand from the rate payers money. The person's engaging and agreeing must be reported to SAPS in terms of the Law.
@Dezikr1@zakareeee Have you not read the response of the City to this post, the City must investigate as this is a clear violation of the City's Events policy section 10.3.9.8. the City is supporting the event with R600,000.
Watch, @brettherron, the Secretary-General of the GOOD Party, explain why the Cape Town vs. NERSA case is so important for South Africans. The City of Cape Town defied NERSA’s authority by imposing electricity tariffs higher than what was authorised, and now they’re challenging NERSA’s decision in court.
If the court rules in the City of Cape Town's favour, municipalities and Eskom could have the power to set their own electricity prices, leaving middle- and low-income families to bear the brunt of rising costs.
The GOOD Party stands firm in our commitment to protect the rights of South Africans to affordable, and regulated electricity. This case is about more than just electricity tariffs; it’s about ensuring energy justice for everyone.

@geordinhl You also made it clear that the shortfall to fix up the Velodrome is R300 Million. The Good Hope Centre is also at R300 Million. What are you and your Party hiding from the Public with this Number.
@TheCapeArgus@TheCapeArgus@IOL@news
@geordinhl i imagine you woke up one day and saw a R300 million figure. The City Counsel told the High Court that the City would have a shortfall of R300 million if they applied the NERSA tariff, YOUR party made the decision to not comply!! (Part 1)
@brettherron@CityofCT@NERSA_ZA It seems that the City with it's Mayor @geordinhl remain stuck at this number. Velodrome, Good hope centre, Electricity, everything is about a R300 million🤔
@HeinzWakanda @nxjay1@brettherron@Our_DA@CityofCT Posting the Truth is not negative! It's the TRUTH.. as Public office bearers we need to ensure accountability and we will do so by exposing the lies spoken to Cape Town by the DA and any other.
@DaveDaveu@brettherron@Our_DA@CityofCT Yes I am sure, due to it being a closed meeting I cannot discussed but can assure that what I'm saying is true. The chairperson does not even realise that the content must become public knowledge and when it does, let's then see who used Google.
@CityofCT@brettherron In terms of the "Admission of the Public and the Media to Meetings and the Marking of Items of Business and Being Confidential" policy, there is no rule in the policy to constitute the secrecy, instead rule 19.2 is being violated by the City.
@DaveDaveu@brettherron@Our_DA@CityofCT Completely wrong Dave, no mafia involved in the lack of maintaining what they were supposed to have been doing. What Brett is bringing to the attention of the public is not INTERNET stories, it's Facts. The speakers office still struggling to answer me.
@nxjay1@brettherron@Our_DA@CityofCT So to neglect services and to ensure that people can't make ends meet is fine with you. If you don't like for the governing party to be exposed then tell them to do their work they getting PAID for!!!
The GOOD Party calls on the City of Cape Town to publicly review its LEAP programme, it needs to undertake an honest cost-benefit analysis. In today's crime stats, released for the period between July to end September 2024, Cape Town still has 5 of the 10 police stations that recorded the most contact crimes in the country. Khayelitsha saw the highest spike in the country, with an additional 109 crimes reported, a total of 820 crimes reported at the station in 3 months.
