Antiphospholipid antibodies positive 2X & >12 wks apart.
Already had rec for aspirin to reduce risk of colon cancer recurrence. It's treatment for APS too so..
1 aspirin on 10/3. New record walk speed next day, though many variables.. night walk, different path during heatwave.
I don't mind when people are smarter than me. I like it, admire them, & learn from them.
But like I don't mind people asking my age because I look young.. is that because I'm actually as smart or smarter.
Or perhaps I don't mind people asking my age even if I didn't look young.
When I put degrees in my Twitter bio, I stopped getting comments such as, you can't argue 1+1=2 or anything because you're anonymous.
However, mind you, I'm still anonymous and you can't verify my degrees.
Now I'm imagining putting MCAT scores on my forehead when I see doctors.
To "level with" me means she's not afraid that I can read research papers and figure out biology, send her references that she can consider in her own problem solving.
And doesn't need to say/do something illogical to prove they're smarter than a patient saying something logical
Can't stand all the Teslas around here.
You vote with your money.
Silicon Valley stopped being entrepreneurial ~15 yrs ago. Sadly it's the same people who in dot-com days would've been in their garages since day 1 of the pandemic inventing air cleaning systems to replace masks.
@RonBrownstein@Bob_Wachter Dunno... I live in Silicon Valley and wealthy people who want to show off and be cool bought Teslas. The people who actually wanted to do it for the environment bought Priuses 10-20 years ago. The progressive professors I know bike to work.
@washingtonpost How the F does this fall under presidential executive order. There is more than one gulf in "America". Rename all of them to Gulf of America. And just start changing American English to use Trump like Smurf.
Well, I haven't met a doctor or nurse at UCSF that doesn't look at me like an alien if I mention Long COVID (except one specially tasked for "mystery illnesses" (except they are only trying to test & find anything other than ME/CFS after saying it's most likely actually ME/CFS)).
“The tissue samples from long COVID patients revealed severe muscle damage, a disturbed immune response, and a buildup of microclots.”
The evidence of #LongCovid is all there.
Doctors who continue to ignore it should no longer be working in medicine. https://t.co/NKbvFiu4fp
⚠️BREAKING
COVID/LongCovid is causing an explosion of dizziness, tiredness and tachycardia in young people. The incidence of Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) has increased 15 fold.

Researchers asked people w/ & w/o #longCovid to 🚲 & performed muscle biopsies:
Tissue from people w/ LC had “severe muscle damage, a disturbed immune response, & a buildup of microclots…& immense amounts of cell death, or necrosis.” 😞

Hey so if you have long covid or ME, or suspect you do, and your doctor suggests you take up graded exercise as a key part of therapy, please direct them to the Nature Communications paper published 4th Jan on Post exercise malaise. Here's the NPR write up

@gregisenberg Calculator scenario mainly applies to calculating tip at restaurants, an isolated unimportant task. Or for more complex math problems, the arithmetic is unimportant vs how to solve the problem. But words & writing apply to all thought. I can't stand AI writing sounds like zombies
@medical_xpress@PLOS@PLOSMedicine Diabetes lingers. Lupus lingers. Alzheimer's lingers. Studies show no major changes in second year...

Yes I want to know if it was COVID that led to cardiac arrest & death of famed Vietnamese chef.
But we've been systematically relegated to Bob & Jetelina & co's people-don't-need-to-know if it was COVID. So don't mind if they die.
Are the Slanted Door bao in my freezer the last
Random Tweets.
I ordered from @GoodEggs on Christmas Eve at 11am & got my delivery at 3pm.
Handy if you have ME/CFS & going to Whole Foods 2 blocks away is sometimes too much.
Though $5 / medium sized bao from Slanted Door & needs to be steamed + delivery & subscriptions fees.
