WSJ’s Anthony Harrup: the U.S. still depends on imported enriched uranium—much from Russia—and a full ban begins in 2028. Curio LV CEO Edward McGinnis: “Recycling is the missing piece of the U.S. fuel cycle.” We’re working to bring used-fuel recycling online by late 2027. https://t.co/dMPDQ22NZO via @WSJ
In a @BBCNews interview, our CEO @edmcginnisCEO (CurioLV) breaks down why the recent air transport of a #nuclear#microreactor is a game-changer for America 🇺🇸 "This is a testament to the remarkable speed at which we are turning the #nuclearsector around" — part of a strong bipartisan push to lead globally. It's about delivering resilient, safe, affordable electricity worldwide ⚛️✈️
Energy is the infrastructure of the world.
@IEA was founded after the Yom Kippur War to ensure the world had enough energy, we need them focused on that mission today, not climate advocacy.
Very much on point. "We need to have 10 or 15 reactors like this up and running from different companies so we can see what design options really work(s)." More importantly, it's how you create the free market environment to enable customers to down select what works for them.
They said it can do 5 MW once it reaches its full power. I've certainly been skeptical of their claims all along, but I'm excited about their momentum and trajectory. Even if their initial plans don't work out as stated, getting a small and uneconomical reactor online is an essential and thrilling step towards the kind of iteration needed to make real-world hands-on progress in advanced nuclear. We need to have 10 or 15 reactors like this up and running from different companies so we can see what design options really work and trade ideas between teams.
Missouri Senator Josh Hawley introduced bipartisan legislation that would require data centers to build their own power plants and would increase transparency around data center energy use. https://t.co/wnqedlC4x9
In 1961, we flight tested the PM-1 portable nuclear microreactor, and then flew it in 16 packages via C-130 from its factory to an airstrip near its final site. It was re-assembled and operated on a mountaintop in Wyoming. Here's footage of it being loaded and flown.
The prospect of AI integration in command and control of nuclear weapons raises fundamental questions about responsibility, data quality, and system reliability.
