@ResisttheMS Hey, maybe Trump can send Dr. Jill to Uganda and the Congo to clear up this Ebola outbreak. Whoopi from The View once said of Jill "she was a hell of a doctor."
@alexthechick I will say that creating a prompt file is very useful. It allows you to revise your prompt over and over until it includes all of the necessary limitations, requirements, and priorities such that the AI stops making incorrect assumptions about your request.
@ShitpostRock2 Love does not conquer all, it certainly doesn't conquer crazy. If you are in love, and she is crazy, write a diary to remind yourself, in moments of weakness when the memories of the crazy fade and your heart aches, why you dumped her and why you should never take her back.
Because I am notoriously cheap, I have fixed mine myself several times over the years. The first time it was a 2.5A mini fuse on the furnace motherboard. The second time it was the control wiring. The third time it was the delay board that went bad.
@El__Bohemio Our old AC was nothing but trouble. It would break down AT LEAST once a year.
Usually on a holiday weekend in the summer, so you can't get anybody to come out.
"You were lightly monitored feral creatures"
Feral, yes. But in the village I grew up in, everyone's name, address, and phone # was published in the village phone book, organized by name and by street address. Act the fool, and your folks got a phone call from a neighbor.
Dear Gen X,
I’ve been watching 80s movies and I just need to know…WHERE WERE YOUR PARENTS??
Every child was just wandering the earth unsupervised like a raccoon with house keys. Riding bikes across town at midnight, fighting ghosts, investigating murders, befriending cryptids, hacking government computers for funsies…
And the parents were ALWAYS “out of town” or “working late” while the only adult-adjacent supervision was some random 16-year-old who got dragged into the chaos.
No cell phones. No helmets. No adult supervision. Just vibes, life lessons, and several near-death experiences.
You all weren’t “raised.” You were lightly monitored feral creatures with a bike and unresolved trauma.
I’m genuinely shocked there are enough of you left to populate an entire generation.
I’m seeing chatter that some Senators are upset they are losing primary elections.
Good.
Now you can see how pissed off we have been for decades.
Have the day that you deserve. ✌🏻
@WoldenAnita Anita, I am speaking from experience. As un-fun as this will be, a trustworthy person will have to take over the management of her finances for her. You'll have to change where she banks & invests, and where her statements & bills are mailed to. Or it'll happen again.
@politicalmath Claude Code, thus far, is an incredible tool, but it isn't a solution. You really do need to know how to read the code it writes and be able to step through that code to make sure it does exactly what you need it to do. And having two AIs reviewing each other covers edge cases.
@politicalmath I will say, Claude can, when prompted to, see deeper into the code base (most of which I didn't write, and isn't documented) and see consequences that aren't so easy to see as a human. Also Claude has genuinely found bugs that I wasn't looking for which were not obvious.
@politicalmath Software Engineer here. Using Claude Code to write code and unit tests, oftentimes asking Claude to take a different approach, and asking it to review the changes. Then I use Copilot to review the changes. Then I ask Claude what it thinks of Copilot's suggestion, round & round.
@Amyisthebomb This morning I made coffee - ground the beans and brewed the coffee using an actual coffee maker. Then I sliced an English muffin in half, buttered both halves, and put them in a skillet, along with an egg and slices of bacon. DIY McMuffin! #renaissanceman
@kimmie_c_ I think it's nothing more than engagement farming. Just ignore them and they will go away. Don't encourage them to keep posting ridiculous provably-false claims, or they will just for the engagement bucks.
