America is only coherent as an empire built on pillaging the ever shifting periphery, internal and external, which has slowly reduced the breadth of viable ideological positions to various visions of individualism. Trump is just an extremely expressive cultivar of the staple crop
“Two women about to give birth were shot and bled to death in the street, staff said.” As they tried to enter a hospital. A whole year of this with complete bipartisan support from the two major parties.
Israel just banned @UNRWA, the UN Palestinian refugee agency, from operating in the West Bank and Gaza. In the midst of a debilitating famine. This is a broader attack on the UN and multilateral legal institutions. 🧵

his co-driver talks about crushing people so badly their bodies explode and how he’s so disturbed by this that he can no longer eat meat, but in the next breath says there’s “no such thing as citizens” in Gaza
In years to come, students in university departments around the world will be studying the propaganda embedded in this headline.
As someone who regularly lectures in sociology, journalism and media studies, I could teach an entire lesson on the title alone.
For example:
1. Treating the 4 Israeli soldiers as more important than the 23 Palestinian children (by leading the story with their deaths and just chucking in the others at the end) implies their lives are of higher value.
2. Infantilizing active duty soldiers as "teenagers" while not emphasizing the age of the schoolkids, despite many of them being demonstrably younger.
3. The classic use of the passive voice: Israelis are "killed" while Palestinians merely "die".
4. Putting scare quotes around "23 die" subtly undermines the credibility of that claim. Maybe no one died, and the Palestinians are just lying?
5. Using the word "attack" for Hezbollah actions, but choosing a more neutral, clinical word like "strike" for Israeli aggression.
6. Allowing Israeli sources to dictate the framing of the story ("Israel names teenage soldiers") etc.
7. Actually naming the Israeli soldiers, but not doing the same for the far greater number of Palestinians, again sends the message to the reader that Palestinian lives don't matter nearly as much, if at all.
It's truly incredible how much propaganda has been packed into 16 words. We are swimming in an ocean of propaganda. That's why it is crucial to deconstruct it and critically assess everything you read, see and hear.
Massive e-learning platform Udemy is training its AI on instructors' classes. It gave them a short "opt-out" window to reject this. Instructors are surprised to learn that time has passed.

Israel has shown it’s capable of precision strikes for assassinations, but when targeting a school they know is full of civilians the weapons used are so powerful that not a single body is left intact. Children’s bodies torn to shreds.
This is a very big deal⤵️ A Musk election interference effort that tricks people in swing states into thinking they've registered to vote. Read/ share.
Sort of buried in this reporting are some distressing investment logics: investors want to see Intel hockey sticking up like Nvidia, and Intel is not because they haven't broken their business model to cater to the LLM bubble. But investors want profit, so here we are.
I’m not sure I’ve seen anything more depraved and dishonest in my tracking of the New York Times. In its article about Netanyahu’s speech, it not only fails to report that Netanyahu flagrantly lied, but it repeats the lie with no acknowledgment Israeli media has proven it false.
This man has been deemed a war criminal by an international court and these goons are giving him a standing ovation. He stood there and criticized Americans exercising the right to protest and they cheered. Politicians clapping for a person that had killed thousands of children.
I can’t stop thinking about this. There’s no words sufficient enough to describe how evil this. Really truly evil. No one with a shred of humanity should be able to see what’s being done to Palestine and think it’s anything other than the worst thing people can do to one another
The name of the dataset is called "the Pile." Couldn't make this up. All of culture boiled down into a shapeless gray mass that's forcefed back to us. "The Pile." Eat shit.
