We don't get to choose the opening scene in our movie.
But by the time the credits roll, you better be listed as the director, producer and star of your life.
U18 3x3 Event to Honor Kabano
The ๐ท๐ผ Basketball Federation (FERWABA), in partnership with the Kabano family through the Kenrik and Rosine Kabano Foundation, will host a U18 3x3 basketball tournament in Kigali to honor the memory of former Rwanda youth international Kenrik Kabano and his mother, Rosine Kabano.
Kenrik and Rosine lost their lives in a road accident in Texas, United States, in April. The memorial tournament is scheduled for June 26 at Zaria Court and will celebrate their lives while preserving the legacy they leave behind.
Widely regarded as one of Rwanda's most promising young basketball talents, Kenrik represented the country at the 2023 FIBA Africa U16 Boys Championship in Tunisia, where he helped the national team reach the quarterfinals.
FERWABA said the tournament is intended not only to pay tribute to Kenrik's passion for the game but also to recognize the vital role his mother played in supporting his basketball journey and personal growth.
The event will bring together some of Rwanda's top young players, with 10 teams competing in the boys' category and six in the girls' division.
5 hour drive to wales yesterday to drive the boy 50 metres to his prom.
He did however get voted prom king and queen by his peers. Proud dad.
He even remembered what I taught him about suit buttons when getting out of the car. ๐คฃ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ
๐ท๐บ๐ท๐ผ On 12 June, the Embassy of Russia in Rwanda hosted a reception to mark Russia Day.
The evening brought together diplomats, officials, business and public figures, academics, graduates of Soviet and Russian universities, compatriots and friends of Russia.

@KudaZim7 Thatโs the stretch where we take cars for a final test before buying them. Some of them suffer a โcardiac arrestโ halfway through and never make it back.
Fit For Life, Rwanda ๐ท๐ผ!
I went to Rwanda with a simple plan = run twice daily on Rwanda's Hills for 3 weeks, to test my endurance levels. I managed to stick to this plan for 2 weeks before life got in the way in my last week! #FitForLife#Kigali#Rwanda ๐ท๐ผ.
Last week we celebrated the Pre-Launch of the Kiziba Refugee camp Digital Computer Lab in Kigali.
One phrase echoed all evening:
โ Rwandan or refugee โ you belong to the future.
โ Give young people a choice.
โ Give them the opportunity to dream.
@AlightRwanda@RwandaICT
Africa is not the future. Africa is right now.
Every young African walking into an arena is a future CIO, CTO, or CEO.
The question isn't why invest in Africa. It's why not.

โThis has been a day of great meaning and promise. Rwanda appreciates the steps you have taken. We have chosen to look forward, and write a new chapter together, and that choice is already bearing fruit. The ambition is there on both sides. But what matters most is the renewal of trust. Today, France is an important partner for Rwanda, in investment, technology, climate, and many other common priorities. Rwanda looks forward to working with France to deepen our collaboration, and expand the possibilities between our two countries.โ President Kagame
Last night in Paris, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame attended a dinner at Palais de l'รlysรฉe, hosted by President @EmmanuelMacron and First Lady Brigitte Macron, following the inauguration of the memorial commemorating the victims of the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi.
HOW TO USE NEO-COLONIAL TOOLS TO HARNESS OUR OWN LIBERATION: In those pictures, you see two European Football teams-ARSENAL and PSG wearing VISIT RWANDA logos. The two teams played UEFA Cup FINAL last night. And I read somewhere President Kagame of Rwanda congratulating PSG on their victory over ARSENAL, but also congratulated Arsenal for playing the cup final....That is a man who understands his MISSION AND the RESPONSIBILITY to his Country! Reading through PK's tweets, one sees he is a fan of Arsenal. But RWANDA'S INTERESTS FAR surpass his own. So on the night his favourite team(Arsenal)lost, he CONGRATULATES PSG. So, to him, FIRST and FOREMOST, it is about INVESTMENT IN RWANDA-PROMOTING TOURISM...and USING THE VERY NEO-COLONIAL TOOLS which were set up to ensnare us(trap/Omutego)to our advantage. Not just that crazy EMOTIONAL ROLLCOASTER which pours African Youths on the Streets.....and you wonder!
Like the AFRICAN SLAVES in the AMERICAS risked their lives to learn English(speak&โ๏ธ );because slaves caught writing English would be killed.....they looked at ENGLISH as a LIBERATION TOOL/WEAPON because they needed COMMUNICATION, COORDINATION AND ACCESS KNOWLEDGE TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND THE PLANS OF THEIR ENSLAVERES AND HOW TO PLAN TO FIGHT BACK, TO ESCAPE.....
Many people here ask me, even insult me for daring to CRITICISE Africans for Worshipping English, Twitter etc...
The equation is simple; DON'T WORSHIP YOUR ENSLAVERES TOOLS, TO USE THEM TO FURTHER YOUR OWN SLAVERY; Rather, USE THEM TO AQUIRE CAPACITY TO FREE YOURSELF! So don't Worship ENGLISH LANGUAGE, how well you speak it; those FOREIGN UNIVERSITIES you glorify, the ENGLISH FOOTBALL,etc...No, Understand their AGENDA AGAINST YOU AND DESPISE AND FIGHT AGAINST THAT AGENDA..... DESPISE THEIR COLONIAL HISTORY. BUT LEARN HOW TO USE THEM TO BE FREE! This where the African Colonial Elites fall short,SADLY!
Iconic weekend for Rwanda & sports. Sport is talent, joy, jobs, tourism, investment and global visibility. Rwanda is proud to be part of building that future for Rwandans and for Africa. Africans shine in global sport and should definitely share in its business.
Warm regards from the finals. #Twaje.
Letโs go RSSB tigers!

By 2036, AI wonโt just optimize African business โ it will redefine it. Africaโs fastest-growing companies will be AI-native. #AfricaCEOForum
๐ธ: @PhotogenixRw
๐ "AI cannot benefit all of humanity if Africa is not included."
๐ That single line, delivered on the main stage of the Africa CEO Forum Annual Summit in Kigali by @EmmanuelLubanzadio, @OpenAI's Africa Lead, set the agenda for one of the Forum's most forward-looking conversations.
๐ค Lubanzadio's argument is grounded in scale. OpenAI now counts more than 900 million weekly users globally, a meaningful share of them already on the continent. But access alone, he warned, is not the point. The real infrastructure question for Africa is empowering people to actually use the technology.
๐ Three initiatives anchor that strategy. ChatGPT Go, the affordable version designed to widen reach across price-sensitive markets. OpenAI Academy, launched first in Nigeria, focused on AI literacy. And the OpenAI Codex Ambassador programme, embedding developer communities directly, with a Nairobi meet-up later this week already drawing more than 300 registrations.
๐ท๐ผ The signal from Kigali is clear. The next phase of African AI will be built less by the platforms and more by the African coders, founders and developers who turn access into magic.

โI think private sector is doing a good job, in fact, it is ahead of the public sector. They are actually, to some level, hustlers.
They are able to go through some of the barriers that are created by the public sector, but if those barriers were not there, the private sector would be far ahead of where they are, and along with that, the continent would be ahead of where we are.
Those of us in the public sector need to fine tune our responsibilities towards allowing the private sector to be the engine that they are, and should be, and all of us would benefit.โ President Kagame | Opening Ceremony of the Africa CEO Forum 2026 #ACF2026
Thank you to my sister President @SuluhuSamia for the warm welcome to Tanzania and for the productive discussions.
Rwanda and Tanzania are not only neighbors but brotherly countries bound by history and a shared goal of prosperity for our people. Rwanda remains committed to building on this strong foundation by deepening our bilateral cooperation across trade, investment, infrastructure, logistics, energy, and regional integration.
I look forward to continuing our collaboration to achieve tangible results for our citizens and advance the East African Community.
๐GRATEFUL๐
The journey I started back in 2022 with just a concept has matured into Rwanda's most popular weekly podcast, 'The Long Form'.
The conversation's that I've had are my attempt to better inform Rwandans, friends of Rwanda, East Africans and Africans as a whole about the Rwanda (and world) they live in. To survive and thrive in these times, information is key.
This is my view
The dream of a united Africa cannot come to pass unless we talk to each other and learn from each other's experience. That is why over the last two years, I've travelled to Uganda and Kenya to speak with though leaders, journalists, artists and politicians. We CANNOT wait for foreign voices to define how we see each other as Africans. Unfortunately, since independence, Africans have only seen, and heard, from each other through the lenses of the BBC, CNN, CCTV, Al Jazeera and Deutsche Welle. SABC's attempt to create a Pan-African news organisation sadly came to nought.
Why?
Because it was too expensive! Only external media could afford to pay foreign correspondent, buy expensive camera and operate global satellite systems.
But that isnt the case today.
With two microphones, a mixer, three cameras, two lights and editing software, you can create content that used to be the preserve of major media.
And with Youtube, you can literally reach billions of people globally. You just need content and an internet connection.
Partnership is Key!
One of the things that I've learnt living in Rwanda and working alongside other Rwandans to build the country, is the power of collaboration. You go much further when you work with like-minded partners.
That is why I've chosen to partner with Next Media.
Next Media created the AfroMobile app, a one-stop space for live television, radio and podcasts. All geared towards the African audience. On it you shall find East African tv channels like NBS TV, Rwanda TV and K24. You shall also be able to enjoy live radio and exclusive music content.
And you shall find The Form Podcast!
By partnering with Next Media, I am partnering with an organization that not only believes in highlighting African voices, it believes that Africa's best days are coming.
What should the Long Form audience expect from this partnership?
More conversations with more Africans. The aim is for The Long Form to become a space where Africans (and friends of Africa) can share their stories.
