If there’s going to be ANY debate about slavery reparations, it starts with the Arab slave trade.

A Blunt Warning for Israel. This must stop.

A recent Israeli strike killed Wael al‑Ladawi, Hamas’s Head of Internal Security in Central Gaza, triggering reactions that capture the population’s complicated relationship with security and policing. Many Gazans expressed little sympathy, openly mocking his death and wishing the same fate on other officials in Hamas’s internal security service, the primary instrument of repression and authoritarianism the terror group uses against Palestinians. He was even alleged to have been responsible for having tortured Gazan woman Tahrir Hasanein, who shared her experience online and whom I’ve written about in the past.

For many years, including before, during and after the war, this service has been notorious for targeting people over social‑media posts, suspected protest activity, political dissent, or any challenge to Hamas’s iron grip. All of the horrendous torture of Palestinians in Gaza was attributed to the internal security service and its vile, violent, and merciless officers. It is unsurprising, then, that many Gazans quietly, and increasingly publicly, welcome the elimination of its leaders and members.

Yet even among those who despise Hamas, the group’s ability to maintain a basic level of order keeps it relevant in governance terms, especially in the absence of alternatives. The chaos unleashed during the war by thugs, looters, gangsters, and clan‑affiliated militias horrified Gazans. Hamas exploited this moment to present an impossible bargain: accept its continued domination in exchange for security, or face unrestrained lawlessness from which no one will protect you.

The failure to train a credible alternative police force or deploy a serious international stabilization mission with robust rules of engagement is scandalous. It reflects a collective abdication by Arab states, Israel, the United States, the United Nations, and Europe. Each actor waits for someone else to take responsibility for building a security apparatus to replace Hamas, while simultaneously lamenting that Hamas remains the only functioning law enforcement entity in Gaza.

This is very worth reading because it beautifully lays out the faulty thinking that has given us suicidal economic policy that has also made no impact on climate change whatsoever.

Characteristically, it pretends that those who oppose Net Zero do so because they deny that the climate is changing (no one sensible does), that outsourcing our emissions to poor countries, an accounting trick, is somehow green (it's not) and, most importantly, challenges the argument that the overwhelming majority of carbon emissions produced in the world today are emitted by countries that care about economic growth way more than they care about "saving the planet" (China, India etc) by citing Kenya whose entire annual emissions are roughly equivalent to what China emits in about 8 hours.

The hoax is not climate change. The hoax is that we can stop it by making ourselves poorer.

Bij ieder weldenkend mens sloegen de stoppen compleet door bij het lezen van de uitspraken van kersvers minister van Staat Frans Timmermans.

Ieder mens met een normaal moreel kompas wist al dat het geluid van Frans Timmermans nooit meer of minder was dan antizionistisch token-filosemitisme, een unieke vorm van hedendaags politiek correct antisemitisme. Genoeg vermoorde Joden als decor voor de Deug-Franschise. Nét genoeg levende Joden om te dienen als figuranten in Frenske’s photo-ops, slijmspeeches en in andere bijrollen ter bevestiging van de onvergelijkbare Timmersuperioriteit.

Gelukkig zijn er mensen die weigeren als decorstuk te dienen. Gelukkig zijn er mensen die precies de vinger op de zere plek leggen. Gelukkig is er de analyse van dr. Eliyahu Sapir.

Die analyse gaat verder dan de nogal eenvoudig te beantwoorden vraag of Timmermans gelijk of ongelijk heeft over Israël. Sapir legt uit waarom Timmermans’ redenering op zichzelf al ontspoort. Hij kiest bewust niet voor de makkelijke route door Timmermans’ beschuldigingen richting Israël te weerleggen. Integendeel. Hij neemt Timmermans’ kwaadaardige bloedlaster, uitsluitend om de logica van het betoog te toetsen, voor waar aan. Stél dat Timmermans over ieder feitelijk verwijt aan Israël volledig gelijk zou hebben. Stél zelfs dat sprake zou zijn van de ernstigste internationale misdrijven?

Oorlogsmisdaden bewijs je met feiten. Genocide bewijs je met feiten. Daar voegt het erbij slepen van de Holocaust niets aan toe. De Holocaust maakt een beschuldiging niet aannemelijker, niet juridisch sterker en niet moreel overtuigender. Precies daar gaat Timmermans gruwelijk de fout in.

Timmermans verwijt Israël niet alleen bepaald handelen, maar maakt de Holocaust onderdeel van zijn bizarre bewijsvoering. Hij begint met kritiek op “de rechter- en extreemrechterzijde in Israël”, spreekt vervolgens over “wij Joden”, verwijst dan naar de Joodse grootouders en overgrootouders die de Holocaust hebben meegemaakt en gebruikt juist die vreselijke geschiedenis om zijn aanklacht kracht bij te zetten. Daarmee verschuift de beschuldiging van een politieke stroming naar Joden als historisch collectief.

Zelfs als Timmermans dus inhoudelijk volledig gelijk zou hebben over Gaza, blijft zijn redenering diep antisemitisch. Niet vanwege kritiek op Israël, maar omdat hij de geschiedenis van Joodse vervolging gebruikt als verzwarend belastend bewijs tégen Joden.

De Holocaust wordt daarmee niet langer een waarschuwing tegen antisemitisme, maar een argument tegen de legitimiteit van Joodse zelfbescherming en soevereiniteit. Dat is Holocaust-inversie: de grootste misdaad ooit tegen het Joodse volk wordt omgekeerd en gebruikt om juist de Joodse staat extra moreel te belasten, in plaats van als extra legitimatie voor zelfbescherming.

Dezelfde omkering zagen we terug in Timmermans’ politieke keuzes. Timmermans erkende dat Iron Dome onschuldige burgers beschermt, maar verzette zich desondanks tegen een uitzondering voor onderdelen van dat systeem binnen een wapenembargo. Joodse kwetsbaarheid wordt daarmee geen tragedie die voorkomen moet worden, maar een politiek drukmiddel.

In het Europese politieke denken wordt de Holocaust zo langzaam losgemaakt van de oorspronkelijke betekenis. De les van Auschwitz was dat Joden nooit meer afhankelijk mochten zijn van de goodwill van anderen. Timmermans kat diezelfde geschiedenis om tot een argument waarom de Joodse staat juist minder recht zou hebben om zichzelf te beschermen. Dat is een ernstig zieke historische en morele ontsporing.

Es reicht mit den Floskeln. Es reicht mit den inhaltsleeren Kommentaren, die nach jeder Tat dasselbe Vokabular ausrollen und nichts benennen. Nennen wir es beim Namen: Es ist der Islamismus. Nicht „Radikalisierung” im luftleeren Raum, nicht „Gewalt” ohne Absender, nicht „ein verwirrter Einzeltäter”. Es ist eine Ideologie mit Namen, mit Feindliste und mit einem geschlossenen Weltbild, das das Töten heiligt.

Diese Feindliste ist lang: Juden, Christen, liberale Muslime, Atheisten, Schwule, queere Menschen — jeder, der das Leben feiert, statt es einem Gebot zu unterwerfen. Seit drei Jahren stecken wir mitten in einer Radikalisierungswelle, und der Nahostkonflikt wirkt als ihr Katalysator: Er liefert die Emotion, über die manipuliert, mobilisiert und rekrutiert wird, auf der Straße, online und in Moscheen. Deshalb dürfen nicht nur die Täter im Fokus stehen, sondern die Hintermänner und Hinterfrauen, die im Namen der Toleranz ungestört agieren und Menschen für den Tod gewinnen.

Und wir müssen ehrlich sein, warum das gerade hier geschieht: Islamisten fühlen sich in Europa wohl, auch in Deutschland. Sie verachten unsere Ordnung und nutzen zugleich jede Freiheit, die sie ihnen bietet, um ihre Ideologie zu verbreiten. Sie berufen sich auf die Religionsfreiheit, um genau die Gesellschaft zu untergraben, die ihnen diese Freiheit garantiert. Das muss aufhören. Religionsfreiheit schützt den Glauben — sie ist kein Schutzschild für eine politische Ideologie, die ihr Gift im Namen Gottes verbreitet.

Es ist kein Zufall, dass der Terrorist in eine queere Feier rast. Der CSD ist kein beliebiges Ziel. Er ist das Symbol jener Ordnung, die der Islamist am meisten hasst.
Diese Gesellschaft aber hat das Wegsehen zur Methode gemacht. Man kontextualisiert, man relativiert. Toleranz, die den Feind der Toleranz nicht benennt, schützt am Ende nur ihn. Die Freiheit stirbt nicht am Terror. Sie stirbt an unserer Sprachlosigkeit danach.

Wat Frans Timmermans (@F__Timmermans) hier uitkraamt, is werkelijk weerzinwekkend. Hij stelt Israël (een liberale en multi-etnische democratie) gelijk aan Nazi-Duitsland (het kwaadaardigste regime uit de geschiedenis) en beweert dat "de Joden" in Gaza "precies hetzelfde" (!) doen als tijdens de Holocaust.

Dit is de meest vulgaire vorm van Holocaust-omkering, wat volgens de IHRA-definitie antisemitisch is — en dat zou ook voor iedereen met een greintje historische kennis evident moeten zijn.

Twintig procent van de Israëli's is Arabische moslim, met gelijke burgerrechten. Duizenden van hen dienen in het IDF en vechten mee in Gaza. Werken zij dan mee aan hun eigen genocide of zo?

Timmermans is geen idioot; natuurlijk weet hij beter. Hij gaat gewoon plan op zijn buik voor het groeiende antisemitisme ter linkerzijde, waar "Israëli's = nazi's" is uitgegroeid tot dogma. Je hebt de verkiezingen al verloren, Frans. Het heeft geen zin om jezelf zo te verlagen.

Als @F__Timmermans nog een greintje zelfrespect heeft, biedt hij zijn excuses aan de Joodse gemeenschap aan.

Daarom zou ik als progressief nooit op iemand als Timmermans kunnen stemmen. Ik ben heel blij dat hij niet tot premier van Nederland is gekozen, los van mijn meningsverschillen over klimaatbeleid.

Many religious Jews are angry and want to shut it down because, according to them, it is killing Jews spiritually.

The coffee shop opens on Saturday to target secular Jews who don’t keep the Shabbat.

I am sure some of those religious Jews will persecute my Christian brothers and sisters in the Jews for Jesus movement, and will end up committing the horrific act of spitting on the ground in front of those poor missionaries.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Israel that Tucker Carlson and the woke reich want you to believe persecutes Christians.

The same Israel where people can freely convert to Christianity, have churches, and, not only that, preach their faith in the heart of the one and only Jewish capital, where the worst that could happen is someone spitting near them.

If you want to see what real persecution of Christians looks like, go to the dozens of Islamic countries that jail and kill converts, where Christians would never dare share their faith in public.

Go to Nigeria, where Christians are burned alive; to Egypt, where Christian girls are kidnapped and forcibly converted; to Pakistan, where entire villages are burned over false blasphemy accusations; to Saudi Arabia, where churches are still not allowed.

Hamas’s newly appointed leader, Khalil al‑Hayya, is a hardliner expected to double down on the group’s armed‑resistance narrative and extremist positions. Closely aligned with the Islamic Republic of Iran and firmly rooted in Hamas’s least‑pragmatic wing, he is now being marketed by the organization as a “man of the people” whose personal losses (four of his children killed since October 7) supposedly grant him credibility and make him representative of ordinary Gazans. In reality, he lives comfortably in Qatar, far from Gaza’s devastation and the consequences of Hamas’s decisions. His first speech after being appointed, aired on Al Jazeera, was a barrage of incendiary rhetoric and empty slogans that angered many Palestinians in Gaza. He laid out a fantasy of maximalist goals: reconstructing Gaza, liberating Jerusalem and all of Palestine, reconciling with the PA and PLO, partnering with Arab states, and continuing “resistance.” It was a laundry list detached from reality.

One remark revealed Hamas’s true posture toward the transitional process that followed the Trump‑brokered ceasefire. Al‑Haya declared that Gaza’s reconstruction is a “right” for Hamas and Gazans and that no political price should be paid for it. The message was unmistakable: Hamas will not disarm, will not demilitarize, and has no intention of honoring the commitments it supposedly accepted when signing the ceasefire.

More importantly, his statement exposed the grotesque sense of entitlement that Hamas, and parts of the broader Palestinian political culture, have developed toward foreign aid, development money, and reconstruction funds. For years, well‑intentioned NGO support and international assistance have inadvertently helped entrench Hamas’s rule and prolong its reign of terror. A fundamentally different approach is needed; one that strips away this entitlement and ensures foreign aid serves genuine humanitarian needs rather than reinforcing a fascistic terrorist organization that’s forestalling progress, holding its people hostage, and perpetuating political tumult and instability.

The killing of four Palestinians and two Israelis in the village of Tell (near Nablus) in the northern part of the West Bank yesterday is tragic, and, after hundreds of similar incidents in which violent settler actions spiral into deadly confrontations, it is also entirely predictable. I remain committed to non‑violence, strategically for Palestinians and morally because no life on either side should be lost. Yet this year alone, we have seen villages burned, homes destroyed, livestock killed, civilians beaten, land seized, and new illegal outposts erected. Israeli authorities have consistently failed to prosecute violent settlers or protect Palestinian communities.

Yesterday’s incident began as a fight between two groups; one armed, the other unarmed but briefly, able to overpower a man with a firearm. Does that justify killing? Absolutely not. Is the outcome shocking in this environment? Sadly, no. When two populations live in close proximity under rising tension, fueled by political factions within the Israeli government that openly support and resource settler violence, deadly outcomes become inevitable.

Though details remain contested, available video and testimony show that a large group of armed settlers entered Palestinian-owned land in Areas A & B that require prior coordination with the IDF, which says they did not do, a routine occurrence across the West Bank. This cannot be normalized or allowed to harden into a permanent status quo, yet that is precisely what has happened: settlers act with impunity, and Palestinians have no recourse.

What is most alarming now is how extremists on both sides are exploiting the moment. Settler groups are calling for sweeping retribution and have already launched coordinated attacks aimed at driving Palestinians off their land. Meanwhile, Hamas, desperate to distract from its catastrophic defeat and Gaza’s devastation, is inserting itself, praising the incident and trying to ignite a new front in the West Bank. Neither violent settlers nor Hamas should be allowed to hijack this tragedy. Still, at some point Palestinians, independent of Hamas, the PA, or any ideology, will push back against violent settlers. When that happens, it risks fueling a vicious cycle that harms all, but would be especially devastating for Palestinians.

I urge those calling for armed resistance in the West Bank to think soberly. Palestinians there are largely unarmed and vulnerable; any move toward armed confrontation would expose them to overwhelming retaliation. What happened in Gaza must not be replicated in the West Bank. International law may recognize a narrow application of the right to self‑defense, but being strategic & sane demands a clear assessment of what actually protects Palestinian lives.

This is a moment to de-escalate, to step back, and to reaffirm that this land is large enough for both Jewish Israelis and Palestinians. Neither people’s presence must come at the expense of the other.
