Today, the #NYPD marks one year since the passing of Det. Steven McDonald. He was shot and nearly killed in 1986, but he endured & shared with people across the world his gifts of compassion, grace & forgiveness. He promoted peace & understanding, & he’ll never be forgotten.☘️
I’m honored to continue serving as the police commissioner of - truly - the finest police department in the nation, if not the world. I love this job and I look forward to spending the next four years leading the #NYPD. (And I’m very glad @FDNY Comm. Dan Nigro’s staying on, too).
There's no trash/recycling/organics pickup on Christmas Day, Mon., Dec. 25. Residents w/ Mon. collection should put items out Mon. after 4 p.m. for collection. Note: It is not unusual for collection times to be delayed after holiday & during winter. More: https://t.co/nKjXWNuUio
Today is the last day of my 33 year career with the #NYPD. #NYC has become a much better and safer place to live & visit since my first day on patrol in 1984 thanks to the hardworking men & women of the NYPD. A big thank you to my wife Lisa who supported me during all these years
Detective Rafael Ramos, Detective Wenjian Liu... Forever in our hearts. We can’t believe it’s was 3 years ago today, it feels like it’s all still happening. We will never forget to honor your legacies forever.
