@phil948@TheJoeySwoll Calling treadmill walking “an awful use of time” ignores decades of exercise science. Uphill walking for example, is excellent for heart health, burns plenty of calories, is joint-friendly, and has one of the highest adherence rates because people actually stick with it.
@xxJay__@CraigMish This isn’t football, he’s a high school kid. He’ll be up in 3 years or so and who knows what will be the situation at that point.
The Marlins took the best player available.
@LouStagner Well, as both a golfer and soccer player it’s completely natural.
It’s the same as someone saying: “How can someone hit a ball that small with a club and leave a few feet from that flag that’s 150 yards away.”
Controlling the soccer ball is definitely easier 🤣
@MattMcWilliams2@HiMyNameIsSeton Comparing it to a free throw or a field goal is dumb.
It’s one member of a team against another member of a team putting their skills (kicking and saving), preparation and balls to the test.
@Brian_Chovanec Anyone who knows about this sport knows that PKs are not just some lottery.
You need to have balls and preparation to be successful. You have players who make 95% of these in practice but can’t even hit it between the 3 posts when the time comes.
It’s an art for goalies too.
I’m not sure why my algorithm decided I needed to have my timeline flooded with new American fans giving their extremely valuable opinions on how to make my sport better.
Here's another reason why Americans aren't big into soccer: in a tournament with the magnitude of the World Cup, games should never, ever be decided by penalty kicks.
They should just keep playing in 15 minute increments of extra time until there's a winner. War of attrition. These are not some regular season league games.
